Magic Wand isn’t what I’d use to erase a color. That would be easier with hue shift/color replace. Whatever the hell it’s called (i havent used photoshop in quite some time).
Iirc the wand allows selecting the color everywhere in the image, and then any operations applied would show immediate feedback. Not sure the other way works the same, and probably requires going through dialogs again if any adjustments are necessary.
