Unfortunately, Visions is mostly bad
I liked the first season. So far I’ve seen 3 eps of S02 and eeeeh I’m hoping for a good episode. Can’t argue against the art styles tho.
I actually also dislike almost all of the art styles, but I know that’s a personal quirk, so I wasn’t going to mention it :P
I found both seasons (I’m a completionist, so I’ve seen them all) to be about the same as far as story quality, personally. Like maybe one good one each? I don’t think season 2 had anything quite as cringe as the Tatooine rock band thing from season 1 though haha
I mean, my main point about Visions is that it’s something unorthodox and creative, quite a polar opposite of dull and predictable dross like… Some other projects are. So even if it’s not all amazing or anything, I’m still glad that it exists.
These are the kinds of projects that may lead to something cool in the future. It used to be the case that large movie studios would have an offshoot for small experimental projects, but that’s not really the case that much anymore. It’s how Lucas has gotten his start, while Disney today is the last studio where I’d expect something else than predictable blockbusters for everyone. So I’ll take what I can.
Completely agree. I’m glad they felt comfortable branching out like this. Much better than just shitting out a bunch of Episode IXs or whatever.
An analogue, I think, is how oddball Star Trek: Lower Decks is. That show 100% works for me, but it was clearly a risk
Haven’t seen Lower Decks yet, but yes I’m a fan of that concept. Actually the TNG episode Lower Decks, VOY’s Good Shepherd and some others that show the life of the other people than just the main cast, are among my favorites.
I tried. I really tried.
