It sounds quite early, so was your family helpful to you about it?
It wasn’t planned in the sense that we weren’t taking any measures to prevent it, but I wasn’t trying to specifically get pregnant either; if it happened, it happened. Very happy surprise. Being pregnant allowed me to get married at that age, so it was all a domino effect. They were, but Romania is still quite old school in a lot of ways - so they believed my (then) boyfriend and his family were responsible for me now, so I moved in with them.
Is Romania worth a visit? As cultural minded tourists we like to do a Mediterranean city trip every fall, outside the summer heat but with slightly warmer weather than we get in the Netherlands.
Yes. I recommend Maramureș, Arieșeni area, Brașov area + Cazanele Dunării + the Danube Delta.

You are still a child when you had your own child. What happened in your life to get pregnant at 17?
Nothing special, just lived life to the fullest. I’m having a great time in this life so far.
