There was a short lived candybar called PB Max that I’ve been craving for like the last 20 years. It actually tasted like peanut butter which, despite my love for peanut butter cups, just completely outdid them for peanutty goodness.
I have fleas.

american beauty. it was everywhere, and everyone seemed to LOVE it. feels like history kinda agrees though since all I hear these days is people making fun of it. guess I’m just ahead of the times.
does the job I suppose. I don’t use desktop enough to have any useful thoughts about it. I like that it’s a decent gui over what I’m used to.
bingo, I enjoy the stabilty and simplicity for my servers but I wouldn’t run vanilla debian for a desktop. ironically I tend to use Linux Mint for desktop which I guess is a grandchild then, since it’s based on Ubuntu :). oops, I use LMDE, not Mint… forgot that I switched a while back since it’s directly debian based.
absolutely nothing, it’s my preferred distro (and I have the grey beard to match). what I mean is that despite not using Ubuntu (or honestly even liking it that much), I give it a pass since it’s the offspring of my preffered flavor.
It’s Debian based so gets a pass, so long as it’s headless.
She takes full responsibility but in her defense, the meds she was on really did a number on her, especially as a single mom.
the garage. I was 6 or 7, my mom was undergoing a major health situation and the medication wasn’t doing her mental processes any favors. One morning she was running late and so asked me to start her car. I’d never started a car in my life, I had no idea what to do and I couldn’t reach the pedals so I asked my younger sibling to help out. I stayed on the floor and operated the pedals, my sibling was in charge of the key.
mind you, this was a stickshift and it was parked in the driveway, facing the garage door.
I have no idea what we actually did, I only remember the crashes as we went through the garage door and through the back wall. The front of the car now blocking the alley, we yanked the key ran to hide because we had just taken down a fucking building ruined mom’s new car, and thought we were going to be killed. Of course she instantly realized what happened and knew that she was at fault so when she found us we were of course in no trouble; but man, what a ride that was…
the internet was a mistake
Fallout and Walton Goggins, it’s no wonder I love it so far.
I showed them by having a successful and happy life. Nothing else needs to be said.
For me, right now. I’m having a blast figuring out how to self host all the enshittified services that I’m closing off access to.
Catch 22 really, I’m enjoying it because I’m learning so much, so fast but probably shouldn’t have to and it’s not feasible for most I realize.
Well, so far I haven’t had anyone crawl through my history for personally identifiable info to email me with threats to my family. So, aces as far as I’m concerned.
That really did happen, not exactly a Reddit thing specifically though. Still, community so far feels far nicer and mature here than the old place had devolved into. IMHO this feels very much like Reddit did after the digg exodus years ago. I am hopefully optimistic about this place and the fediverse in general but I do fear what may happen if the big players are threatened enough and get some legislation passed in their favor.
some still exist. with social media dying, I’ve been frequenting my old haunts more and more. do you have stairs in your house by any chance?
I’ve noticed the same thing but fortunately I still am crazy for peanuts. An interesting observation though and now you have me fearing getting sick of them.
honestly, I have experienced the opposite lately. These days, anything I’m looking to do in Linux has already been done and someone has written instructions for it. If it requires digging in to any nitty-gritty, there’s usually decent documentation as well. Windows has so many opaque and propriety processes, and opens so many network connections that I am not entirely sure what the OS is doing most of the time.
I would rather go barefoot in shoes than wear socks twice in a row. Heck, I often change them when I get home from work.
I’ve long said, the first thing I’d do after winning the lottery is never wear the same pair of socks twice because my favorite of life’s little unnoticed pleasures is the feeling of a new pair of socks.
True, given a choice of the three, I’ll take French toast most any time. I like them all though, pancakes have to be good ones, crappy ones are inedible. Waffles are good but unless it’s something fresh or that I put effort into at home, they are essentially eggos.
While I agree with the statement, it’s funny how different I would paint it.
High quality pancakes can be transcendent. Decent French toast is always good. Finally waffles are like pizza (the right toppings can make up for anything). It’s hard to entirely fuck them up, so, even crappy waffles are ok with enough butter and maple syrup.
I would love to try one. Not for $3500.
