  • The only death rate on trains I care about is deaths from the train crashing/malfunctions/etc. You know… Things the train/train operator are actually, legitimately responsible for.

People being fucking stupid and going around barriers and getting hit and killed should not be held against trains.

Trains are not hiding in a bush waiting to jump out and get you when you least expect it. They are enormous fucking things, stuck to rails, and the only way they are gonna get you is if you are a momentously self centered idiot (you know, you’re average american) that tries to put yourself in a place where common sense and barriers tell you not to.

Then again, it doesnt matter to anti-mass transit propagandists who love to seize upon any opportunity to say “THIS IS TOO DANGEROUS/EXPENSIVE/UNAMERICAN, WE NEED MORE ROADS AND CARS INSTEAD”

  • 99% of all the old “don’t wash cast iron!” shit you hear is antiquated information from back in the day when they used lye for soap.

There is absolutely no reason today to not wash your cast iron today. That doesnt mean you always have to, though. Often just wiping it out with a damp rag is more than enough, and if you have a lot of really stuck on shit… You can scrub it with a slurry made up of salt, water, and soap (Make sure you use little water so the salt doesnt dissolve into the water and disappear). The salt will provide some abrasive scrubbing without damaging the cure.

outside of that, again, if you choose to, you can absolutely wash it. Warm water and soap, dry it off, put it on a hot burner for a bit to dry off any remaining water… and if you are using it again tomorrow, you’re done. If you’re not gonna use it for a while, then a very very light coat of oil would be wise until you use it next time.

and just in case anyone wants a good way to cure… I cover my cast iron in a thin layer of lard, and put it on a rocket hot grill, and leave it until it stops smoking. then i take it off, let it sit until i can handle it again… put another coat of lard on, and repeat. a couple coats should give you a great starting base to build your cure up from… and its not something you have to do often unless you really abuse your cast iron.

  • Believing women dosnt mean just acting blindly on a womans word and nothing more.

Believing women means intiating proper procedures, starting investigations, and gathering the facts and evidence, impartially and without prejudice.

So yes, We need the epstein files, even if we believe women, because they are evidence that, in all likelyhood, supports their claims.

These files should have been handled a decade ago, but the fact that they’ve spent so much time and energy trying to alter and hide them shows how damning they really are, that even after having months of time to alter and remove Trumps name, that they still were not able to and had to emergency switch to “Epstein files? What files? No such files exist!”

Convicting based upon words sworn under oath and with no facts to back it up but feelings and outage has lead to a lot of overturned verdicts and innocent lives ruined.
