I felt this way over a decade ago when I first started working in IT. You see how the sausage is made kind of deal and don’t want much to do with it. I love the internet and video games still, but I visit far less sites, with more privacy tools. I’m at the point where I might try Linux for gaming if not at least my workhorse PC that just browses and stores data.

1. I cursed on a merry go round while in 4th grade with kindergartners on it. All the other of my supposed peers were “absolutely shocked and appalled” I cussed in front of kids who hear more curse words at home. Side note, I was the school pariah everyone picked on, I’ve heard these shits say worse things in front of younger kids.
2. A teacher threatened me to take off my trench coat in high school. He looked like he was going to physically assault me while wearing it, one of the shit head gym teachers, and I asked him why. Told “That’s not the question you should be asking right now.” He apparently reported it to the principal who just walked up to me at lunch while wearing it, opened it up and said “No guns.” Then left. I think the principal knew why I was dressed like that, the gym teacher was a fucking asshole.

And a lot of boomers who have substantial retirements think they’re the 1% and others protect them because they’ve been misled via propaganda to believe they’re the job creators and back them fully.

There are some that literally want to kill all the younger generations because they think they’re woke. Those people need to be in an asylum.

I don’t think it’s similar living conditions but more of significant world events in their lives. With say Boomers you have Vietnam, Civil Rights, and Reagan as examples that shaped their world views. Not all are shaped the same way but it affected them. Like with Millennials, we have the proliferation of the internet, 2001, and 2008. These have seriously affected how we think and act to differing degrees in the USA.

There’s been a few studies that have been looking into the effect of lead in the environment and its effects on mental acuity as the person gets older. It’s not a wide confirmation but the start that as Boomers get older, they are literally going insane from lead.

Like with hippy boomers, some are still counter culture in X. But more have bought into capitalism in some fashion than being against it.
