Edit: also this isn’t only us-centric as these companies often operate internationally. So if non-Americans dislike certain politicians, they can also participate in the boycott of their party.

I don’t know why the numbers were trending down the past few months:
-when there are more third party apps than ever before and they are excellent and feature packed
-the servers have become more stable
-Lemmy is more well known
-there are many more communities now.
You will win if you fight with these two!
Gotta really hand it to the Lemmy devs, third party devs and server maintainers.
I had problems with signing up for a peertube instances only to be denied or to have the instance shutdown. Ooof.
Hopefully this inspires thinkpads to go back to their roots.
