I used it to help write an Excel script for my wife because I didn’t want to learn VBScript. It worked amazingly. I’ve talked to other programmers who have done the same. Another friend won a multi million dollar contract with a bid where chatgpt filled in all the boilerplate saving him hours of work.

AI is a time saver like a pocket calculator. It’s not going to think for you. But the productivity gains are real.

The fact that you call their topic uninteresting means you don’t care about others but expect them to care about you. That is you being self centered. You expect others to listen to your interests without first listening to theirs.

That means taking a real interest in their topic even if it’s something stupid like sports. If you don’t know enough to contribute the conversation that means you are learning something new- which is a good thing.

And just because you listened to them doesn’t mean they immediately owe you to listen to you.

The other issue with Gifted “failing” when they get older is that it’s classification based on age.

That is if a 5 year old has the mental age of a 10 year old, they will be classified as Gifted. But that accelerated aging doesn’t necessarily result in someone smater at age 18. Their brain matured early and peaked at average.
