Yeah - I like the idea that if a character’s fundamental stat is (too) low, doing basic everyday tasks would get an increased difficulty to do it right/with success. Being it talking to someone, opening a door or getting out of bed.

I love games, gamification and chat roleplaying, socializing with people, volunteering, different lists and difficult topics!

Has her work ever caused even hints of doubt in you (about you and her), or challenges with your self esteem?
The genres I typically put time in are RPG, real-time strategy and sandbox.
Lately I have been played Idling to Rule the Gods, Project Zomboid, Blade & Sorcery and Age of Empires II: Definite Edition
A fine question!
The easiest answer is effect of the hobby towards other aspects of life. If one’s relationships with people suffer, or school or work, because one rather sits in front of one’s gaming device, then there’s a chance that one has a gaming disorder. Also, continuously postponing things that need to be done in real life and rather play games can be a sign.
Things that can lead to adding gaming hours:
.
Some people don’t even get joy from games anymore, and they still continue the activity. Some get to the point of experiencing suicidal thoughts. Then there’s the thing of social exclusion - you simply drift away from the society and lock yourself up at home.
EDIT: It doesn’t mean that one has problems if one is having a blast with games for one or two weeks. After a half a year and neglecting other parts of life however…
Wouldn’t have tried the game all by myself at least! Friends introduced it and it was cool that way.
I don’t think I mind dying in the game but it can become a problem if someone takes your items from where you died while you roll for a new character…your chances become much smaller to go back fast to the end-game.
Haha no worries!
My friends say the same and it’s fine. I don’t have much of an opinion of my own about it but it’s better than no game I think 😄
And, well, it has other digital opportunities as well, such as in Tabletop Simulator.
Yeah, and not every game or story is about winning (at least 100%).
Some stories can be intriguing especially because of some loss, and if you manage to come back afterwards.
Does the randomness come from the cards? Could you somehow pull cards from a certain pool to take away some extra randomness?
Also - the game length can be manipulated. Having a maximum turns or giving extra stats/items in the beginning etc. Creativism and experimentation can make the game more fun 😄
I think that anyone who wants to contribute somehow in a positive way to their society, environment or country, should get enough money to have their basic needs fulfilled. Being it full-time or part-time work, volunteering or just helping out random people from time to time (pick trash alone somewhere and stuff).
I don’t approve ending people’s lives because they create harm to others. Of course it’s a whole different thing when you compare a feared dictator who hates humankind versus someone who spends all their time trolling people out of their minds in the Internet just because of the lulz. But I don’t know, what would be a good solution in these or any other cases.
Yup…no matter how good a tool is, if there are no users to it, it might be as good as it never existed (unless if someone takes ideas from said tool and implements them to a user service, growing their quality, which is still better than nothing). Sad but true.
I don’t know myself. I just heard about it. Haven’t studied it at all.
It seems that this decentralized style starts to be a new trend?
First this Fediverse/Lemmy I heard about. Then The Matrix (messaging platform). And now these Mastodon & WreMin.
Well, if that prevents or slows down the corrupted law of enshittification, then I’m approving it!
Some folks enjoy reading articles. Some folks enjoy to watch, listen and read (captions) at the same time. Some folks rather ask around and learn through conversations.
I’ve understood that it’s generally easier to learn new things when you use many different channels (audio, imagery etc). To many people but not to all.
I started in Kbin. I think that the activity level was smaller in there, which made me swap. Another reason was that Lemmy feels nicer to use (I like its looks more and I found a neat app on the phone to use it. Didn’t find an app for Kbin).
Hmm. Does this mean that it’s expensive to run this whole Fediverse thing and that the money is running out?
Made me think about the old silent movies!
I have done this same thing. My hearing is a bit hypersensitive and these kinds of headphones have helped me in many different, loud situations!
Since I enjoy the idea of providing goodness for the masses regardless who and what they are, I approve taxes.
Well, as long as the tax money actually goes to make the country better for its people to live in.
I have over 300 wallpapers in my folder on the computer. I have told windows to change them every 10 minutes I recall. They are about games, friends, all sorts of characters, movies and horror at least.
My laptop has the default wallpaper - it has had it since from the beginning. My phone…I don’t remember where I got it.
