I’ll mention multiple myeloma only because I have myeloma, and although I had long-bone pain and lytic lesions, I was lucky that I didn’t have back pain.

When I started school, they discovered their mistake, and I had to learn English. I remember my father saying for many years, “This is Australia, we speak English in this country”, my younger sister and I weren’t allowed to speak German at home, so I forgot a lot of it. In high school, we had to learn French or German, so it was natural to learn German. So German is both my first and my third language.
