I pitty the poor, volunteer admins facing clueless users dealing with downtime. “You said it’d only be an hour! WHAT’S GOING ON!?!?”

I wanted to say that’s not what ‘anti-hero’ means, but I kind of see where you’re coming from. In my mind, an anti-hero does terrible stuff to achieve good goals (Deadpool being a prime example), while John McClaine does do some pretty vicious things, but is more or less just trying to survive, not because he wants to do the terrible things.
In minor defense of DH4, which I agree goes beyond the premise of the first 3, it does kind of follow that John would be better able to do some crazier things after going through the events of the first 3 movies. He still shouldn’t be indestructible, but his experiences definitely qualify him as badass at that point. I also still like DH4, so I wanna justify that somewhat, hah. DH5 is just not good, though.
I mean, I don’t think Moonlighting really targeted preteens and children, so that tracks.
Dredd (2012) is just “Die Hard on LSD”
Jokes aside, Dredd rules.
“This thing doesn’t have a single horse? What’s up with that?!”
Nah. What’s weird is you thinking everyone should follow your strict rules about national segregation online.
If it’s such a problem for you, instead of begging everyone else to fit your narrow world view, go find an instance that works better for you. Or, when you don’t because that’s ridiculous, make your own and block it off from everyone else not following your rules. Then you might be happy.
Everyone has “custom” pronouns. Some just match possible preconceived notions about them.
I find your hyperbolic outrage over nothing “distasteful” and “disrespectful”. Go to another instance if you feel so strongly instead of trying to rile up some sort of revolt against the admins as if that would accomplish anything.
You’re linking your own post about assuming what the admins in .world have done as if it’s definitive proof. After a definitive statement is made one way or the other, then you can start freaking out. Until then, just stop it with the conspiratorial garbage.
Lol, good troll account. Here’s your downvote.
Far Cry 3 was so frustratingly dumb and yet so popular. The gameplay was fine, but everyone was blowing up about the stupid ass sub-villain with his Philosophy 101 ”zingers" in “White, suburban YA saves ‘savages’ from themselves with horrendous war crimes” the game. It was really irritating.
Turns out there’s this: https://fedipact.online/
As others have stated, it’s very little to do with being “prudes” and much more with being tired of horny anonymous posters just being horny. If it were something informative, that’s a whole other thing.
Of either Threads instances or instances that defederate Threads, not that I know of, but I expect it’ll be a thing in short time.
Lemmy doesn’t need to compete. Hell, it can’t compete. It’s an open-source platform developed basically as volunteer work. Meta (and Threads) has millions of dollars and massive teams behind it.
Thankfully, we don’t need Meta. We just need to do what we can to resist. The best we can hope for and what we should aim for is to limit the impact/damage Threads will have on our segment of the Fed. How to do that, I’m not sure exactly, but my first instinct is to block off anything corporate. Any interaction at all is basically just asking monied interests to take over.
Right now? Have a Lemmy account on an instance that defederates anything Threads.
There’s finally an open github issue that seems to be acknowledged, but it’ll be some time before this feature (if ever) ever gets implemented.
Fwiw, the devs seem quite open to (even directly requesting) people coding features they want and having them added into the main code in future versions. So if anyone is able and willing to make a working version of that for Lemmy, it could be added quite soon, really.
When you’re selecting languages, try holding ctrl when clicking the ones you want. It should allow you to select more than one.
Well he’s gonna have to dig down 2 more feet if he doesn’t wanna be left out with the yellow-spotted lizards.
