You are missing the point. Conservatism isn’t anything that you, specifically, believe it is.

I’m not sure how you can be on lemmy or reddit and not recognize out-grouping from the left. Groups fundamentally define themselves by what they aren’t. And each group will strawman the other to strongarm their adherents into staying within the group.

Communist. Pink haired liberals. Nazis. Fascists. Meaningless boring out-group names that are repeated ad nauseum. But go. Indulge. Join a team and have fun. But don’t sacrifice real relationships for some politician. Be smarter than that.

Driving drunk is known to be dangerous. People who indulge in that behavior eventually hurt others. We don’t wait for a drunk driver to crash into someone before we arrest them. We arrest them the minute they turn on their car while drunk.

Someone who indulges in sexualizing children will eventually hurt a child and we should not need to wait for it to happen before we arrest them.

You do have to wonder who paid to get this content in front of everyone. How did anyone even know?
