I responded to someone else, but there is a reason why Grey isn’t a part of Nebula.

Him and Kurzgesagt were helping to build an organization for YouTubers with the current CEO. The first talent signed on was Wendover and Real Engineering.

Grey and Kurzgesagt were rather inactive partners when they should have been more active and were trying to build a much more exploitative company instead of what Nebula became. It is vague on how they left, but they left and the company became better for it.

Work because I use it at work for work reasons.

I feel like, if they ditched the hot wings, it would still be a good interview.

Buried into a lot of romcoms is a sense of fantasy. People don’t fantasize about being poor.

It is been a plan for a while in the USA to shift launches from government run to private run for over a decade. This is just an implementation of that strategy.

And things get strange as the Tau’ri are strangely good at war for having such a relative disadvantage regarding technology. Tau’ri weapons and tactics at the start of the series should not be effective and the development of Tau’ri technology is shockingly rapid and produces novel results.

The Goa’uld keep bringing knives to a gun fight while the Tau’ri started with a BB Gun but keep bringing better guns.

What other company or government could do this?

It is far worse than that.

Universities have a lot of metrics that they are judged against that don’t lead to a quality education. Research doesn’t lead to good undergraduate students. A good pass rate just means the curriculum is soft enough to keep don’t students from failing.

So you have university presidents who are incentivized to increase prestige and they aren’t going to focus on the quality of education because that doesn’t lead to better metrics. If presidents try to defend their universities’ way of teaching, they get replaced by those who follow the system.

Liability insurance just becomes part of the cost.

A lot of consultants and contractors do the work for different governments. A reason why governments like this is that private companies find hiring and firing a lot easier. So, if a company performs poorly, it is really easy to fire them. In some cases, governments can also get individuals working for the consultant or contractor to stop working on that governments’ jobs, effectively firing them.

It can be a lot easier to get rid of a poorly performing consultant over a poorly performing government worker.

Governments don’t pay consultants to do work, but to leave when the work is done.
