Counterpoint: what?
Yeah, more or less both
Keep your share of rent between 1/4 and 1/3 of your income, set up passive savings contributions of at least 10% and use a high yield savings account to stave off inflation until you both have 3 months living expenses and understand why the best investment strategies are boring
If you’re in university, your desired career and its requirements should determine your major, , not the other way around
I graduated with a bachelor’s degree only to realize my career was a dead end because only in my senior year was I informed there’s such thing as a “mental health license” for which I was disqualified due to low grades in a non-related class the year prior. Eventually I learned how well blue collar jobs pay (with a lot of job security at that) and got back on my feet working in logistics but I’ll never see the 50x return on investments by retirement because “why learn about finances when you can barely pay rent”
It all seems very obvious in hindsight
I’m deep and this is 14
Design is too mobile responsive
“Can’t even breath”
Give it a few kilomonths
Well I guess when there’s a species of giant people eating gum-chewers we really should have expected a decline in its popularity
I’ll skip repeating what others have already said but add the default UI needs to be less cramped on desktop. Not sure about mobile as I’ve had a mostly positive experience on Sync (thanks to competition from a selection of 3rd party apps btw but I digress)
I’d like to see a discussion around “capitalism” that doesn’t devolve into bumper sticker logic and people either use the terms they mean (capitalism often conflated with consumerism or corporatism) or at least provide their particular definition (which would certainly be necessary if the topic of UBI were to arise)
Of course that topic alone is so broad in a vacuum something like the housing crisis or entrepreneurship would be better individual discussions under that umbrella
I’ve been enjoying watching Lemmy mature into something with nuance lately but didn’t expect to see a community founded upon its very principals attempted
This seems interesting, especially intentionally starting with 2 combative subjects but with no personal interest in them personally I hope to see what other topics appear
That name and image are really confusing with the stated intent of the community
I was just thinking this sounds like Lemmy becoming e-Mormons
The fact is most people are perfectly happy being herded like cattle if it means avoiding a slight learning curve and new ecosystem
I could be wrong but is the previous statement referring to Lemmy, Mastodon, Linux or my entire career of shielding management/entrepreneur types from minor technical details?
Tbf, the 3rd party apps improved greatly over the past 6 months
Forgive my ignorance (actually, no, bitterly hold a grudge against it but answer the question through your repressed seething anger) but why are there 2 Mastodon logos?
Andrew Tate subscribers, people who say “red pilled” a lot and dudes who attribute their lack of admiration from others to their height
Hard to give exact but that should put you in the ballpark
So the question is: “what if that thing I said?”
