Yes. In the UK, our elections are always on Thursdays. No one has ever complained about it because it’s literally not an issue.

The idea that it’s an attempt at disenfranchising people because you have to vote either before or after work is laughable.

Trump is a shitshow (pun intended), but there’s also Trump Derangement Syndrome.

If they treat you badly, cutting them out of your life is fine. No one should put up with that from anyone.

But cutting people out of your life purely because they vote differently to you is just weird and petty.

For the record, I’m in the UK and would vote Harris in the States.

There would be far fewer anxiety disorders diagnosed if people did this.

Maybe this is the reason why American election campaigns never really end.

Yeah, I really can’t understand this. I have family and friends who vote differently to me, but I would never let that get in the way of our relationship, and I can’t understand the mentality of people who do.

I mean, if someone I knew turned out to be a full on neo-Nazi, then I’d steer well clear. But if someone just votes for the other main party to the one I do, who cares?

We’re on Lemmy. No conversation on here or on any social media is likely going to “further society” in any way.

I have a Pixel 8a. Before that I had a Pixel 4a. Both of these are probably the best phones I’ve owned.

I say both, because for someone who isn’t a heavy user, the only real benefits of the 8a over the 4a for me are the bump in performance and the 120hz screen. Oh, and updates too, of course.

The point when it gets dark at 4pm in December is the worst.

You have other choices, yes, but it’s always going to be either the Democrat or the Republican that wins.

Like here in the UK, smaller parties get media coverage more so than in the US, but it’s still always going to be either Labour or the Conservatives that are forming a government, so they get the most coverage.

I think I blocked a bot once, if that counts.

But I don’t block people on any sites unless they start spamming me in DMs or whatever. I don’t see the point of blocking people otherwise.
