I’m guessing this is the vagus nerve he’s describing? Longest nerve in the body, and the effect being a vasovagal syncope.
I have had this nerve stimulated by severe gastrointestinal issues twice, and the effect can only be described as dying haha. I’m being hyperbolic, but I swear both times I passed out felt like the end.
Complete lack of strength, cold sweats, weird hearing issues and then passing out into a fencing response, convulsing, and then waking up within 30 seconds, no confusion, completely aware of what just happened and how much it sucked. Different than a seizure.
Fun fact:
one of these pass outs were at the beginning of an international flight while seated in an exit row. The flight hadnt even taken off from the airport. They even let me stay.
Simple dish but it’s amazing,
Chicken adobo
Get about two chicken breasts, bone-in preferred
Pop into a bag with some like 6 cloves of garlic 1 cups of soy sauce, and 3 tbsp of fresh black pepper
Marinade for like 3 hours
Then throw all of that into a pot and cook for about 45 minutes closed lid on the stove, mixing occasionally
Prepare white rice for base
Take off the lid and let it cook for about 15-20 more minutes on medium-low, until sauce is noticeably thicker. Place on a simmer until rice finishes, then go ahead and plate. Make sure to add some sauce to your bowl as per your preference
Enjoy!
68%? Where is that coming from ?
Yeah, I’m full stack and use it for quick mockups and communication with our marketing person at work.
But I never hoped on the figma train fully, so penpot works for me.
What are some integrations that I might find useful?
(I work predominantly with a Stencil.js website and react native app (traditional MERN stack for the app, the stencil website has tons of custom integrations))
Open source alternative is called penpot.app
Worth checking out
I drink pretty much only on the weekends and that’s pretty seldom.
Is one glass of wine really that bad though? Like compared to a glass of grape juice? Because of the sugars and calories and is alcohol in this percentage range (approx 14%) enough to cause damage to your liver over time?
Again I’m talking about one glass
Yeah, everyone’s neurochemistry is different and should be experimented with.
I didn’t know this for so long, that I needed a few easy wins to set the pace, that I feel like I could have been way more productive throughout my 20s haha
Kinda like a silent green lantern
I really liked him in Hollywood, I was wondering how well he would bulk up. I have high hopes and he has some big shoes to fill (say what you will about the Superman movies, but Cavil was fantastic casting)
Vegeta is like a little space hitler jr, has committed multiple planet wide genocides and his father King Vegeta wouldn’t have had it any other way.
He is one of the robins I think, ends up becoming the red mask or something and turns into an antihero of sorts
Are you people putting your mugs directly onto the stove top?
How dare you speak to Margot Robbie like that
Listen pal, you’re wrong and fuck you.
Basically the work flow has changed from:
Find a framework that I need to integrate for whatever reason. Go to GumboChumbo.io read the docs.
Write some code based off of what’s in the doc, test the thing, read error message, read docs, ad new thing, but wall for obscure reason, spend thirty minutes looking through similar issues via Google-fu and then find an obscure comment from 6 years ago, That some how fixes this current issue. Implement it, get it working and then customize it.
Now it just streamlines finding these solutions.
Yeah, it is at the moment for the most part. My girlfriend is fluent in Spanish, and I have talked to her about general concepts that overlap.
We decided after I started getting deeper into the language that we should maybe not do that as much so I don’t pick up bad or flat out wrong habits.
I myself am of an Italian descent, however the relatives I have that speak it either live in Italy still and are estranged or sadly have passed away. There is an Italian grocery store near me, and I have heard them speaking it so I was hoping to strike a couple friendships up over time there.
Been using a multifaceted approach to cramming Italian in my little brain:
Any suggestions on what I could be using instead of Duolingo?
I use Fotor when im doing something like this. It’s a website and mobile app and really well made
This is the kind of content we need on this platform haha
