Docker was initially only rootful. So I’m assuming for compatibility’s sake they kept the default that way?

Yeah I also switched all my docker containers to podman as well. I wasn’t making any point for using either above the other

I don’t think it would’ve been an issue if they just put a warning in the getting started section in the docs (or if they just have secure defaults to begin with). But currently there’s no mention of it. It took almost a year for me to realise that I was running “production ready code” in root

You can run docker without root as well with docker rootless

I just started playing it for an hour after I read this and it’s amazing! I wouldn’t have minded paying the 5€ if it just had a demo to try it out. But luckily there is an OST I can pay for to at least give some support

I’m severely alarmed by the amount of people arguing whether or not Steam is a monopoly. You don’t need 100% of market share to have monopoly position. Pure monopolies are extremely rare and are almost always state-run companies like for public transport. No anti-monopoly legislation is written in a way to only break up firms with literally 0 competition.
