Lord of the Flies up in there, hot damn!
I’m happy about any new features that draw more users to a federated alternative :)
I think a lot of younger generation, myself included, prefer casual responses, conflating professionalism with being rude, slimy, or otherwise malintentioned
That’s fair, I can’t say I’ve daily-driven it yet since I’ve still got my Kagi sub, but I’m thinking of defaulting it on my work computer to put it through its paces. It’s done fairly well with some of my tests, but definitely seems to still be getting refined, I’ve noticed recent information can be difficult to find on it
If you’ve used Kagi, it has a feature much like “lens” to raise the weight of fediverse results too
No one really talks about it and it’s in its infancy, but I’ve really been enjoying Stract.com
I can talk out my ass, but can’t see through my ass. Common misconception.
Sounds like trading to me
This particular OP tends to be fairly contentious, I’m surprised Beehaw didn’t ever take action on his account.
Right there with you, I’m on the admin side of things, so the time it takes the app to start is a bigger deal to me than the full featured-ness of VS Codium, but provides contextual highlighting and some quality-of-life coding features that you won’t find it text editors.
I was going 45 mph on a main road, when an 18 year old trying to show off for his girlfriend, blew threw a stop sign on a residential road and t-boned me going 80 mph. I was one of the luckier victims, with emergency surgery, fractures and breaks everywhere, loss of use of two fingers, and nerve damage in all of my limbs.
The driver’s girlfriend did not survive, and my coworker, who was in the car with me, had every rib shatter and his spine broken. 3 years later, he’s still on oxy (he had to get special approval and prove that it wasn’t addiction).
I don’t remember the crash itself, but I remember a fire and waking up to my coworker covered in blood, screaming and delirious. I remember falling in and out of conciousness while I was moved from room to room to get emergency care for the next 3 days. Most of all, I remember the relief at hearing my coworker’s voice after 4 days, now knowing that he was still alive.
Eternity represent!!!
Ah, excellent, thank you so much for answering that!
I also feel like that’s to be expected, I bet big companies see graphs just like this too. There was anger and hype for a lot of people to move to a new platform. Many did, but it didn’t become the new habit for everyone. That’s not a failure of Lemmy. In fact, I’d say this is an impressive metric, especially considering we do not know what defines “active”. Is logging in what mark someone as active? Upvoting? Commenting? We should see this graph as a big win, especially during Lemmy’s infancy.
Honestly, I’m so fed up with EVERYTHING having an app. I don’t need an app to pick up some Taco Bell

Electric toothbrush, I feel so cleeeeaaaaan!!
I fully expected someone to respond like this, but here’s the thing…
My wife and I moved over to Manjaro when it was the hot new thing and we were new to Linux. She stays on LTS and only updates a couple times a year - and thusly have had no issues at all with it. I’m not about to demand that she let me re-image her computer and undo all of her customizations just because the internet hates Manjaro.
Simple fact is that she’s on Linux and I’m proud of her for being willing to take that step.
I named several other distros including the very ones that you man-splaned to me, don’t get hung up on the one ;)
