I watched it and honestly don’t remember much of it now. I loved the first 3 and 4 was quite forgettable.

The reason is most likely that English isn’t phonetically consistent (i.e. you don’t say stuff the way you write it) while other languages like German and Spanish are, so it doesn’t make sense for those.
with today’s overwhelming and constant information and notification overload
If that’s the reason, I think there’s an issue with managing notifications. Limit them to important people and there won’t be much more mental clutter than in the past.
Ghosting people for other reasons if completely fine though and is not the same at all as ignoring them in real life.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is a useful or interesting product under $100 that you wouldn’t normally think to buy?

I‘m working as a freelance web developer with creative agencies to create websites or applications and maintain existing projects. Mostly in PHP with a frontend written in HTML / CSS and some JS.
I also had trouble getting into coding initially since I’m a pretty visual thinker but a university course called „coding for designers“ that taught programming in Processing finally got me into it. In it you didn’t start with a boring ass calculator but make pictures and later games with a simple IDE.
I didn’t try this yet but why the fuck would Reddit even need an ai. Does anyone care? Will anybody pay for it? Or is it just because Reddit is a public company and stonks need to go up?

Blurry cloud? Now it’s a weird looking airplane.
HAD seems about right. It’s sad to see Mastodon accounts just getting abandoned
Doesn’t the US sometimes use one that puts America in the center and cuts Eurasia in half? Can we agree this one is definitely stupid?

Can‘t wait for a new US trade deal to soften that up.
Let meta write the laws and get only 60% tariffs. Von der Leyen will be enthusiastic about it.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What have you heard people say that screams "I have lived my life in a Westernised bubble and have no idea how the world is" ?
73·2 months agoMaybe more of a US bubble but American software never considers that people might be multi lingual and public transport is always disregarded.
Examples include: Google knows that I speak German and English since I put it in my settings and yet it tries to auto-dub German YouTube content and auto-translates German comments in Maps.
Public transport stops only appear in Google Maps when you zoom in quite a lot despite being some of the most important points of interest when using public transport. Public transport navigation is also very lackluster.
Those are just examples, there are many more examples in software where you can notice some 20 year old US tech bro came up with it who has never been to a different country.

Reminds me of people who described themselves as „no code developers“ before the whole AI hype when they were using stuff like webflow. This job title always bothered me and made me think they were afraid of code or something since making a similar site with a good CMS is not complicated and scales much better and I couldn’t see why you would wanna go full no-code.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Was plex ever good or was it designed to be a rug pull?
1·2 months agoThat would have indeed been a better solution but I guess they didn’t want to let people go? No idea.
A different solution would have been to release Plex 2.0 with significant improvements that people actually want and charge for that again.

Yeah, we need studio Ghibli to do it!
