Same as you but both for toenails and fingernails. Fabric catching on a rough edge of freshly cut nail is like the highest level of sensory nightmare for me. Because of this I spend so much time meticulously filing them and I just hate it.

26·1 year agoApparently my way of consuming YT is very different from most people. I do rely on subscriptions feed, but I have never used notifications. The feed still works perfectly - for me at least.
Just out of curiosity. Why do you need notifications? Do you try to watch the videos as soon they are posted?

Technology@beehaw.org•BBC research shows issues with over half the answers from Artificial Intelligence (AI) assistants
9·1 year agoYeah, I intentionally left out the word “groundbreaking” from the title when posting, because that’s a ridiculous thing to say about this research. Obviously, it could be much better.
But I would say that any attempt at rational look at LLMs in mainstream media is a step in the right direction.

12·1 year agoWell, yeah, I could’ve told you that too but neither of us would have any proof. It’s one thing to try it out and decide that it sucks for your use case and another thing to measure and quantify it somehow.
Why such a negative reaction if you apparently agree with the outcome?

9·1 year agoI’m not surprised by those results at all but I think it’s a very good thing to see some actual research and numbers.
Just do whatever the fuck you please. It’s that simple!

I think as far as holidays go, it’s pretty decent:
- I get some work free time.
- It’s a distraction from the fact that there’s no fucking daylight which makes me miserable.
- I get some gifts and give some gifts. It’s not about their material worth but it’s cool that people actively try make someone else happy. We don’t do that everyday.
- There is a lot of colorful lights. I love colorful lights.
- I get a lot of time to hyperfixate on some kind of programming / linuxing computer stuff. Maybe gaming.
I feel like a lot negatives of Christmas don’t affect me because: I don’t watch TV or ads, don’t go much to shops or any public places for that matter, I don’t really use social media outside of Lemmy. Also, I don’t have a big extended family.
I don’t get how is it that brushing is normal for everyone but somehow flossing seems to be an impossible task. It literally takes even less time. It’s so quick and simple that it just seems dumb not do it. Well, to me at least. Clearly that’s not a very popular opinion.
Isn’t this true for many years now?
I just fought them off in my apartment. Everything they said is correct. I just want to add that I bought some kind of spray to kill them and it was very effective. Got rid of them in two applications.
Yes. No to the Reddit’s size though.

20·2 years agoWell, I actually enjoy code review, and I enjoy it on both ends. I learned A LOT thanks to insightful review by my teammates. And I like to pass that knowledge on to juniors when reviewing their code.

Work on Free Open Source Software. Seriously, I fucking love software engineering and I can’t really imagine doing anything else with my life. In fact, that’s kinda my current plan - work towards financial independence and then work on things that matter to me, on my own terms. I really hope I won’t get burned out somewhere in the process.
