My response:
Everybody has easy answers and a proper & permanent disposal site and method are always “just around the corner”.
I am persistently mystified that so many people – many calling themselves “green” or environmentalist – consider this a solved problem.
Spent nuclear fuel piles up in retaining pools at nuclear reactor sites, and we can’t take it anywhere because nobody can figure out where to put it. Everybody has easy answers and a proper & permanent disposal site and method are always “just around the corner”.
Meanwhile, solar and wind – for all of their problems – can meet large portions of our energy needs RIGHT NOW with minimal capital outlay to install new capacity.

Literally anything can influence the creator. I watch Max Miller’s Tasting History, and he’s unrepentant that he chooses certain foods to go with wine or coffee from his sponsors. But, he also makes entertaining history pieces to go with it, and that’s what I’m there for.
Jon Townsend will happily sell you reproduction kitchen equipment from his own store, which is heavily featured in the videos.
At the end of the day, creators have to get paid somehow. Sure, some creators are doing it for free because they have a day job, or whatever, but even then you can be pretty sure they won’t do anything to jeopardize their paycheck.
I think the most we can hope for is that creators tell us when they are are influenced by advertising.

FYI, the new official Office default is Aptos. I’ve been making work docs with it for a few weeks and I have to admit, it looks really clean and technical.
The differences between victim survey statistics and crime reporting statistics are not easy to explain. In the US, trends in victim reporting tend to lead law enforcement statistics by a year or two, which makes one wonder whether law enforcement is padding the numbers – either to make themselves look good (when crime is increasing according to victim reports and it would reflect badly on them if LE statistics followed suit), or to make themselves look necessary (when victim-reported crime is going down and LE statistics might make LE look redundant).

The technology improvements in power, battery capacity, and radios have been frankly astonishing. Setups that would have cost $1000+ back in the 90s come as ready-to-run kits for $200 now, and perform better.

Maybe 8 to 10 days. My kid got it at school, a little more than a week later I was coughing. I tested positive on home tests for another 10 days or so, I remember because I had to cancel some Dr. appointments.
But I was very vaccinated and it really was no worse than a short cold.
IMO, I think the world is going to transition to using they/them for gender unspecified folks. I’ve been practicing using they/them in written and spoken communications, and it comes off a lot less strange than you’d think.

The passive-aggressive version of “don’t let the door hit your ass on the way out”.
Or… just let people live with their multiple personalities. It’s not like people didn’t have alt accounts on Reddit specifically so they could talk about stuff in a way that wouldn’t reflect on their primary account.
As long as people behave appropriately on an instance, it’s nobody else’s business what they do on other instances with different accounts.
This is why customer service folks often keep a mirror by the phone, looking at their own faces helps to keep their emotions in check when dealing with a difficult customer.
