  • Google is one of the worst offenders, with constant effort to force you to login, sponsored links etc but it isn’t unique to them.

AI (or human) generated rubbish, optimised for SEO is making it harder and harder to find what you actually want. This isn’t entirely new, there has always been a battle but it does seem like now with the AI push they are winning and we (the users/consumers) are losing.

  • Definitely this. Was thinking about making a bit myself to do this as the whole direct link thing is such a pain but I don’t have any experience in making bots so I’d be even happier if someone else manages to make one!

Something that automatically converts https://beehaw.org/c/support to [support](/c/support) so they are useable across instances.___

  • The features I’d love to see:

    • Compact / Collapsed posts
    • List of your Subscribed Communties
    • Search for Communities
    • Multi-Communities (an equivalent to the Multireddits in Apollo)

I use (or used to use) the Multireddit feature in Apollo all the time. My big use case is that I can put “spoiler” communities there so they don’t pop up in my main feed but I can go there once I’ve seen the relevant episode! It’s also really good for grouping regional ones… like

UK, Chill UK, UK Casual etc

Edit: and being able to edit your own post!

  • Hmmm probably civilisation is the one that I always go back to… but for pure comfort warm fuzzies - animal crossing.

As well as just being a nice, no pressure game it’s also associated in my mind with when my little boy was born. Spent many sleepless nights & mornings with our newborn snoozing in my lap while I played to keep myself awake. It was perfect as it’s such a nice gentle game.

  • I don’t think it was a secret that reddit wasn’t profitable yet, but the way that was posted twisted as a nasty way to take a jab at 3rd party apps was awful.

I mean, have a proper answer ready. Most people would absolutely understand that as a company they need to be “profit driven” to become sustainable as long as they had really open & honest communication with as much notice as possible about changes.

There seems to be this counterproductive instinct by (some) CEOs to just keep silent… it’s not the screw ups that sink you… it’s the lack of communication on it that does. This AMA somehow actually managed to make it even worse by pretending to be ready to talk and then responding with this kind of crap.
