I’m still waiting for the PC release to be a thing…
Does matrix have a voice/video functionality or is it strictly text chat?
In all of these new-to-me resources, i see a lot of people saying they are self hosting. Do y’all selfhost on like y’all’s main PC or do y’all have a home server stack y’all use?
I’ve been seeing things about matrix more and more and it’s seeming like something interesting. I checked out their website and, like a lot of this stuff, it’s a bit unclear for me.
So you do as you do here and set up an account on an instance and then port everything through it? Does smashing all the different chats into one list have a way to differentiate them from one another? I’m just looking for more about it to help me understand it.
The ones I’ve been watching most recently have been No beans and Kaif, Wirtual and his casting vods for TMGL, and the odd Jacksepticeye or Markiplier when i see their vids.
It’s hard to get into them if you don’t have a friend there to explain things and help you. The guy who taught me how to play and got me started was like super diamond in SF5 and beat me with almost any character in any game. I beat his main team in Dragonball FighterZ once and it was the highlight of me playing lol.
I liked Tekken 7, but didn’t have anyone to play with really. My favorite artistic style is the French Bread fighting games. Their characters are pretty stand out too.
Currently don’t have my hotbox, so i can’t be grinding out combo trials and trying to figure out which character i vibe with most in SF6
I didn’t know you could type in that list?! It didn’t look like a field that allowed that. Good to know for the future!
I had not noticed that the list of instances was longer than originally shown. Thank you for sharing screen shots. Hopefully if someone else had the same question, that clears it up!
Honestly, i looked them up after starting the game and have enjoyed what I’ve heard. They are strange, but in a mesmerizing way. Truly a band that is about the art in the music and not about trying to follow music trends. Would recommend.
That is a really cool idea. Sounds like it could have been a lot of fun and really scary at the same time in some situations.
I like playing things that aren’t typical or really useful in some ways. I just want the experience to be unique and fun. What are some of the non-attack builds that you have thought about and/or tried that really stuck out for you?
I’m a huge fan of flavor>>>>>usefulness. My current character has a self imposed fault that causes me to roll wisdom saves when I use fire spells from my top two spell slots. If I fail, I get disadvantage on all mental stats and advantage on all physical. It hasn’t happened much yet. Mainly when a friend is being dangerously hurt. Then my guy gets a little heated and burns spells at high level and faces the consequences, but it is worth it at the time.
I’m not doing anything other than character building for my current DnD game. At one point, I was playing both Pathfinder and 5e at the same time and realized just how bad 5e defined grappling. I spent a couple of weeks in my free time coming up with a way to define what you can do while grappled/grappling in 5e. I tried to make it more viable of a playstyle while not making it too broken. Sadly, I never got to actually playtest it with a group as we were swapping people around for DMing so they could all get a taste of it and none were experienced enough to allow for the playtest.
I would be more than happy to share some about what I had done, I would just need to find the document. I would really love the idea of a character that is a bar brawler that just grapples and throws people around!
Yeah, it’s exciting to see things differently. Especially since, for the moment, things are a bit smaller here. I’m liking the idea of everything so far. Perhaps the app needs a few things added. Most definitely, I have a lot to learn!
Have not messed around with the app much yet and didn’t know it would show up at all based off of my cursory glances so far. I mentioned in another comment that I was wondering if it could be set so that I only see Beehaw and not lemmy.ml so I could hop between the locations at will. Maybe in a future update in the app!
Update: I poked around the app a bit more. I didn’t notice that in the login screen, the instance menu could scroll. It looked like it perfectly held the fours it originally showed. I was short on time when i originally looked and didn’t try scrolling there because of how nicely it fit. Figured i would update this in case others could use the info.
Checking again, you’re right. I am seeing the odd thing now. Maybe i was looking for a way to see just the beehaw feed and purposefully bounce back and forth as desired.
Quick side question: How did you get to beehaw from the jerboa app? I only see lemmy.ml stuff on it and can’t find a way to add other communities.
I have watched speed runs, challenge runs, and the great play through by the lad Jacksepticeye. I LOVE the art style and would really want to play it truly for myself. I know just about everyone in my friend group is going to buy a copy if they ever release a remaster.
