A 12m stainless steel pedestrian bridge that took 6 years to make and was subsequently “strengthened” to meet safety requirements. Not quite the same thing.

The whole thing is a storm in a teacup. I’m level 40 in the game and have not once felt the need to even LOOK at the MTX store. The game is complete; the MTX are there if you’re too lazy to be bothered using the in-game travel mechanics. Simple as that.
In Australia the checkout person does the bagging themselves, no second person required.
Splitting hairs isn’t going to change anything. TikTok is absolutely 100% a social network. It uses more video and less written word but that’s about it. YouTube hasn’t died (and neither has Facebook for that matter) but it was very different in its earlier incarnations. It has become more social as time has gone on, in an effort to remain relevant. It has largely copied TikTok.
TikTok in turn will become a boring old platform used by Old People (millennials, Gen Z) and kids will (already are) on to something new.
The same was true of Facebook my not-so-socially-savvy friend. Kids will stop using it once they realise grandma is on there because it is no longer cool.
Yes but of course no one wants a clunky-ass 2kg ThinkPad with a 1080p screen. They want a Yoga or Surface Pro. I would like to see you install additional anything in one of those!
An E15 in my country costs $1200 with 8GB soldered-on RAM. Not sure if it has a second memory slot, although I would assume so. But the screen is crap and they weigh twice as much.
Also - who is buying enterprise equipment from Amazon?
I take it you don’t know much about enterprise IT. I guarantee most businesses are running 8-16GB as standard. Where I live an 8GB laptop costs $1400, the equivalent with 16GB costs $1900. And to get 32GB you’re looking at an additional $1600.
I’m watching Enterprise right now. I swear he says “it’s been a long load, getting from there to here”. Annoys the crap out of me.
You’d read the labels of whatever the hell was within reach. Shampoo bottle, toilet cleaner bottle, soap, whatever.
I wish. The DJ would always talk over the start of the songs, and then start jabbering again before it ended.
We all await your commit containing all those simple unit tests with bated breath.
My kids watched it for the first time ever last weekend. They had no nostalgia or frame of reference for it and yet they both loved it - “the dumbest fun movie I’ve seen in ages”. We’re watching #2 tonight.
I don’t recall the reviews of the first movie but I vividly recall LOTS of articles exclaiming about all the unnecessary violence in the second movie. One news piece had some “expert” show how many times MacLaine would have died, broken bones, etc if it were real. So much free advertising.
And if you read the other half of the sentence you quoted?
When Google started using XMPP in Talk, 20 years ago, it was crap. I haven’t used it in probably 15 years but it wasn’t great then either.
Not even a little bit. XMPP was rubbish.
What point in that linked blog swayed you? The circumstances are quite different. XMPP was dogshit when Google started working with it. ActivityPub is light years ahead.
I’ve only played a little since the new patch but it seems a bit better but my (very mid) PC still struggles performance-wise.
You’ve left one thing out of your little “everyone is a libertarian when it comes to video games” theory there - I’ve never heard of the game, never heard of the dev, I am very much left leaning and I support the dev’s decision to raise the price of the game by 20% if that’s what they want to do. If it’s worth it, people will still buy it. If it’s not, they won’t. This is hardly some AAA publisher pulling a bait and switch during pre-orders. The game is out and available, anyone unsure of it can easily read reviews, watch videos of people playing it, etc and of course, they can also do a refund.
