Probably something based on 1/6 th of a byte that originates form old IBM systems that used 6 bits per byte that was then later never changed into 8 bit systems so you now have to convert between 6 bit and 8 bit systems and then fractions, gotta get those good fractions. So they’d say something like my SSD is 170⅔ GB for a 128GB drive
Lol… You are not even trying to argue your case. Why are you getting personal? No need to be like that.
Well sometimes it is… very much subjective… That’s why different countries have different laws. Each country have subjective views on what should be punished or not and how much punishment is right. If Ethics is always objective and like a maths equation that can be solved we should all just have the same laws because it’s objective.
I agree but yet here we are… And I don’t think just putting people in jail helps. But it should definitely have consequences, that’s for sure, but they must first be effective for what they are trying to solve.
I think it is naive to think that only selfless and competent people will take the role then. If properly competent you’d see the massive risk of jail and be highly discouraged to take the position. Noone in their right mind would risk jailtime for a job position.
On the other hand, billionaires, risktakers and gamblers would be more than willing to take such a role for the power it gives. They don’t really care since billionaires manage their risks with all the money they have, and risktakers and gamblers simply just dont care about it untill it hits them.
So it solves nothing
Then who do you suggest should be in power instead? I’m just asking because I would not know. To me personally they will always be a “rando”
Just to play Devils advokat here: Wouldn’t that just completely discourage anyone from taking up a new CEO or similar role since you are now liable for some illegal activities that might have happened without your knowledge and long time ago.
You would at least need very good evidence beyond reasonable doubt that the person in question actively put into motion the illegal activity and knew that it was illegal.
Placing blame on a single individual might feel satisfying but does not nessesarly punish the correct responsible. When cooperations get as large as Nvidia, Intel etc. it functions in my opinion like one giant complex organism and legal issues like these are often systemic and involves hundreds of people who took decisions.
I think massive and progressive fines are in fact a good tool because it punishes the “organism” that is truly to blame and not an individual who might be to blame.
To me it’s also about integrity. Know when to stop and when to take a break. Sometimes it’s good to stop while things are good instead of him keep pushing himself to produce untill something bad happens like worse quality. Scandalous YouTube drama arises or what ever else he’s in risk of ending up on. I’d rather keep remembering Tom as a really good person and YouTuber withe excellent content than a Tom who lost to the system. Also he might have a comeback with something else, something new and innovative that we couldn’t even imagine.
Welcome. I hope you’ll have a great time here
This is mandatory to be posted every year for Christmas. Always makes me smile and sing along
I don’t use anything but water under my arms. I found that after a while my armpits stopped smelling as bad. Maybe I’m just lucky. It’s all about bacteria. The sweat itself has no odor but the bacteria unde your arms feast on the sweat and starts producing smelly “farts”. I found that over time I build up bacteria that doesn’t smell and bacteria that actively remove any smel, so if I smell from stress sweat it’ll dampen down quite a bit over the following hour or so. Treat your armpits like a sour dough in your fridge. It’s a set of healthy bacteria you don’t want to accidentally kill. Interesting enough if I use soap to wash every day my armpits starts smelling stronger again so for daily wash I basically just use a lot of water and rince each armpit for a solid 30 sec to a minute each rubbing with my hand. Soap kills the good bacteria too and makes it worse. If you use any only use a tiny little bit. I also found that shaving my armpits makes me smell so much more and it’s uncomfortable too because I can feel the sweat drip down because it has nothing to cling too and cool you down which is exactly what it’s ment to do, so I basically just let my hairs be and it helps me sweat less and smell less. I’m lucky I don’t have that much hair but I’d assume it could be trimmed rather than shaved for many. There’s a reason we have hairs under our arms and they do serve an Important function. For me gone are the days of yellowed t-shirts from deodorant and Gone are the days of allergy inducing perfume.
It’s more like this: it feels like you are both the detective, the victim and the murdere

To people who says “they aren’t airtight” are not correct. Living in a country where building houses like this is the norm I can say that they are build to be as airtight as possible to keep in humidity and thereby heat inside. What makes them livable and not a humid moldy plastic bag is a well tuned mechanical ventilation system with a heat regeneration system (air cross flow system, really simple actually) that recovers most of the heat. The ventilation system runs 24/7 and keep the air fresh, more fresh than most conventional houses in fact if it’s tuned correctly that is. But yes the house is as airtight as posible and they pressure test them to ensure they meet the standards. The biggest issue with it is actually cooling them. We have issues here in summer because no method of removing heat is properly implemented yet. But in winter it’s awesome. My heating bill is practically 0.
This is why we can’t have nice things
No way it’s the schools fault if the kid sidloads anothe os. That should strip the responsibility and it’s the parents problem. Ultraconservatives can just stfu. about this.
I never really understood the need for that strickt controll of the hardware… Who cares if Linux is sideloaded or if students unenroll. Imho I think if you need that strickt controll you are bound to get so many unnesseary issues down the line. Instead let student 6se what ever the fuck they want and for security just make sure they WiFi/ethernet is secure and locked down and any services the students need are behind a secure 2fa login. Treat any device as untrusted is more healthy for your security in the long run imo. If students need special software that they can’t run on their own machines you can lend them a machine for that specific task for a specific time. Problem solved.
