After reading all the comments, I think the issue is the panel work. Usually these Jucika strips are very clear, this is a rare one that isn’t.

IMO, in the first panel she should be right next to the fruit stall instead of it being so far away. Ideally she would be holding up her hands full of jars, maybe with a helpless expression. For extra clarity the vendor could be trying to hand her some fruits.

Second panel as is. Old Lady seller comes along with a solution.

Third panel, old Lady should be seen walking away with her empty basket, ideally holding it in her arms instead of her head to emphasize that it’s empty. Jucika walking as is, carrying her own hat full of fruits.

I still pine for Fresh & Easy frozen Indian food. I have yet to find any restaurant that matches the Methi Malai Chicken and Chicken Makhani they used to sell. Wish I had saved the boxes to try to recreate the recipe

… I’ve been to SF several times and used the system, it’s great. Also to add, since you enjoy being condescending, I’ve used public transport in Asia and Europe as well. So… haha?

LA is a tough one for this because it’s so spread out. San Francisco has a famously amazing BART system but the city is also very tiny compared to what most people think of as “LA”.

Depending where you live and where you go, LA Metro can be useful. I use the Metro quite often, and I know the bus system is pretty expansive as well. They’ve also consistently been adding new lines and stops including a way to get to LAX via Metro. So it’s not like improvements aren’t being made.

What the other person said. Also, these artists would already have been on other projects. Most of them would have finished work on this movie months ago. Pixar has a stable of artists that are continually on staff for development or unreleased future projects. Some of the people let go had been there for 20 years.

And they still laid off a substantial percentage of their artists.

My local library has one of these as well! Super neat.

They’re good. Sometimes dark, definitely at least ironic or punny in an unexpected way but not usually wholesome.

Not a movie, but check out the painted “Marvels” comic book mini series by Alex Ross. It’s been years, but it follows a photographer who captures the beginning moments of The Fantastic Four, Spider-Man etc.

IMO they all seemed equally pointless when beautifully animated movies already existed
