I’m using a Samsung device now as well, but as I recall, my last Pixel phone did have a very basic files app. But stock Android didn’t always - I was using ES File Explorer and eventually Solid Explorer on my HTC phones back in the day to restore basic functionality.

I guess I meant that it shouldn’t require a 3rd party app. When I discovered and began using Solid Explorer, there wasn’t even a viable system app for file management in Android, you had to use a 3rd party app. They did eventually add a system app, but it’s next to useless.
Solid Explorer has always been my go to. I never understood why basic file explorer functions essentially required the use of a separate app, but it’s functionality is superb and the now-baked-in-but-terrible file explorer in android can never hope to match it.

So yes, maybe - but I don’t think it’s a given or a safe assumption by any means.

Little did they know that they threw a layer of radium on your ceiling. Oops!
Yep. And all of my grocery stores locally have it - either in the bakery or just on the cookie aisle proper, as well as the newish (5 years?) vanilla or chocolate sandwich cookies.

Tilgare@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Are these specs good? I want to buy my son a gaming PC2·5 months agoYeah, during the GPU shortage of '20/'21, I ended up buying a prebuilt so I could at least get the GPU at RETAIL price. It was at a time when flipping GPUs on ebay was all the rage and you’d be paying 25%-100% more than it was worth to a scalper.
The system integrators get a better price on parts than we do, and now many of them are selling them for less or precisely the retail price of all the components. You really have to shop around though, some “premium boutiques” like Maingear can be 50-100% more expensive than the competition… They’re selling the same product so I don’t really see the value they bring at that price, but I’m sure as hell not paying $2,000 for their tech support.
He spotted a sucker and couldn’t pass up the opportunity.
Just Google meatspin - it’ll be easier that way than explaining it here I think. One of those things you just have to see to understand.

Maybe you had Google digital wellbeing settings turned on? Or focus mode or something of that nature, such that when the office is in DND notifications are held?

Controversial take - sometimes you’ve just got to adapt to the times. I’ll never forgive everyone for removing SD expansion in phones, because there’s absolutely no replacement except “buy our expensive cloud storage and own nothing ever!” or “spend SIGNIFICANTLY MORE THAN THE ACTUAL COST OF FLASH STORAGE to increase your onboard storage!” which are both unacceptable. But wireless headphones are perfectly acceptable. If I want an audiophile experience, I’m absolutely not using my phone anyways.

Now that reddit is going nuclear, we’re all looking for our new home because we yearn for the internet we all grew up with as it slowly erodes away thanks to millionaires/billionaires ruining all that is good to make a buck.
Same same. I moved to Firefox for Android back then and use ublock to hide their nags forcing you to use their app. And of course the ads they were trying to shove down our throats by killing third party apps. It’s still a great repository of knowledge that I’ll search via Google, but otherwise I browse for fun here.
