That’s fair, I was so struck by the absurdity of the amount 😅.

I would just ignore this as well. If some foreign government that I have zero ties or interests with sent me fines, they’d go in the trash/spam filter. They have zero ability to enforce them. Wasn’t it Russia and Google where Russia claimed Google had to pay some absurd multi-trillion dollar fine that exceeds all of the world currency? Kick rocks.
That’s the one strength the US has ever had, immigration. So many inventions and industries exist because of immigrants. Most times it was in the face of rampant descrimination, segregation, violence, and attempts to shut them down or take it from them. It was the only part of the civic religion they indoctrinated us with as children that wasn’t complete bullshit.
What does any of that have to do with using “tiny penis” as an insult? The issue the other user has is with the insult itself.
Yeah, 10 grand is actually a reasonable estimate for 100g of cocaine in most regions of the US, depending on quality and how you’re selling. The low end would be about 6k wholesale.
Oh wow. Now I need to look up a translation for what was said before that to maybe put it in context to at least see what they were attempting to convey.
I’m not sure why you made two different comments, but ok.
This is exactly what I’m talking about, denial of reality. I’m not talking about propaganda, I’m talking about the science. I’ve been paying attention for the last 25 years, and we’ve unfortunately hit a point where massive suffering and death are inevitable due to inaction.
Good for you?
I’m not implying we shouldn’t try. I’m advocating a realistic view of the situation. Too many have their heads in the sand.
Yeah, this battle is, unfortunately, lost. It is now too late to stop what is coming. Keep in mind that the effects we’re witnessing are from emissions 10-20 years ago, and the global total continues to rise and will likely continue for the foreseeable future. If you haven’t yet, don’t procreate. If you have already, don’t continue to.
Is that what was actually said or a poor translation?
All I could think while reading is that this man has ventured too far into a stranger’s personal space. I suppose that’s why I’d never live somewhere like NY or LA, affordability aside. I don’t want strangers that close to me constantly.
That ad campaign was not about Gaza, it didn’t even resemble anything close to bodybags. It looked like messy artists in a studio. That whole bit was much ado about nothing.
Wasps are disrespectful. One year, I had a nest right on the corner of the frame on my front door. I left it because there was at most only ever one outside, and it would just look at me, so I figured we had a truce. After about 6 weeks, I’m in the bathroom, and one of these assholes comes flying out from behind the toilet to drive bomb me while I got my thang out. I destroyed their whole community after that.
Was it promptly followed by an Israeli bombing?
That is interesting. I bet it was a legitimate attack, but the government’s attempt to cover up their embarrassment (particularly the fleeing “guard”) has muddied the water, as any cover-up will do. I must have missed that one at the time.
This isn’t discussed enough, likely because it doesn’t have the shock and awe that war does, similar to how the relatively small amount of violent crime hits the news while all the vehicular deaths are mostly glossed over. They rarely actually have any effect on the rulers, yet they devastate the populace. Proponents say dumb shit like, “It will cause the people to rebel!” No, it won’t. When you and your children are sick and literally starving, it is difficult to organize resistance, not only physically but also mentally as your cognitive functions suffer as well. That’s also assuming that there is actually a fundamental issue with the government. Many times, sanctions are a cudgel used by western bullies against countries that won’t play ball with extractive economics or other harmful policies. Sometimes, the pain caused to the population is the point because they had the gall to elect leaders the bullies don’t like.
I’m honestly surprised we haven’t seen an assassination by drone from a nonstate actor yet. It’s cheap, would subvert many of the protections aimed at stopping shooters, and security likely wouldn’t react in time or have the equipment to effectively stop it.
That’s wild and seems like a lot of wasted time, effort, and money. If it is really that serious put the onus on the ISPs in their jurisdiction to block it.
