Why wouldn’t your setting have potatoes? Does your setting have Peru in it? No, no Peru? Gee, then it sure sounds to me like you get to decide where potatoes come from in your setting; they don’t have to be a “new world” food if you world doesn’t have or has a different “new world.”
That feels entirely an aside to the conversation of opportunities for established vs unknown actors, aside from that both things are at the behest of shareholders. If you for any reason thought I didn’t have more ire for and assign vastly greater blame to the executives and shareholders, allow me to alleviate that concern. Yes, the problem of lack of opportunities for lesser knowns is moreso a problem of studio and shareholder expectations than just individual actor greed, but still both parties share some level of culpability.
Maybe. But I’d rather see a no-name with student debt deliver a 9.2 performance in a lead role than see a near-billionaire deliver a perfect 10.0 performance in the same role, 10 out of 10 times. I understand that is a matter of preference and personal priorities, however.

Yeah sorry I’m not gonna feel bad about criticizing Hollywood’s least charismatic nepo-baby whose presence is taking job opportunities away from actors who pursued the career the right way rather than merely having the right parents and connections.
I think it’s important to make the distinction that not wishing fame, fortune, and incredible opportunities for somebody is not the same as wishing ill on them. I don’t want her to suffer some poor fate, I don’t want her to get in any way harmed, I don’t her to be miserable. I just don’t want undeserving stiff acting being rewarded with fame and wealth when other vastly more deserving people could be taking those roles. I hope she has a wonderful life as a regional manager at In & Out, for example.
And yes, I feel this way about all nepo babies.
And frankly, actors in general; once you’ve made your mark on the industry and secured a comfortable wealth for you and your family, retire and allow those opportunities to go to others, but obviously that’s vastly less egregious than people being raised to pinnacle of culture just for coming out of the right vagina.

It’s force of will combined with self-confidence. Sorcerers cast magic using “The Secret,” basically. They believe in themselves hard enough that they manifest power into being. That’s the idea of charisma spell-casting. It’s okay if you think that’s dumb, but that’s the idea at play here.

I love The Bear, but it always felt like it was meant to be a short series to me. Like I wanted to see everything wrap up nice and tidy in two seasons. Good as the show is, I just can’t imagine sticking around for multiple seasons more.
Maybe I’ll be wrong, but I predict seeing people lose steam on this show quick at this point
I only played a one-shot with the guy; it was just a fun-run kind of game so I didn’t get a chance to see a lot of character, just the one day worth of OP-ness.
In 3.5e one of the strongest builds I’d ever seen was a hummingbird wild shape air-domain caster druid with the natural spell feat (I believe that is what it was called). They’d fly around the battlefield in bird form which gave them such insane AC bonuses as to be basically unhittable, then they’d just cast Call Lightning and Ice Storm and destroy the enemies while remaining untouchable. It was honestly insanely OP
They don’t for me, tbh. Part of what was fun about prestige classes for me was that there was multiple ways to get to them. It was something a character, theoretically any character in most cases, could work towards regardless of where they started. Like a Bladesinger may have started as a fighter, a bard, a wizard, or more. It felt like a whole world of character possibilities. Archetypes feel more like a doctor picking their specialty of study, at least to me

Yeah when I was DMing 5e we just house ruled that only underground races had darkvision, most races currently with darkvision had low light vision (from 3e) instead, and I think I stripped a race or two of even that. All of my players agreed with the changes. Darkvision in 5e is stupid.
I mean who doesn’t have dark vision these days?

A list containing the specific intro songs is vastly more suited for a fandom repository than an encyclopedia.
