I held off on watching that movie for the longest time and knew only that meme about it. I thought it was a joke. It was so fucking stupid it felt right at home with zoomer humor.
Justice League wasn’t as bad. The first season of Discovery wasn’t as bad.
This was a different person. They’d taken a username of someone popular in a number of communities on Reddit and were purporting to be that person.
There was, back when I was active there. Around the time I migrated to Lemmy there was some drama and I believe that user was suspended. I don’t check it frequently enough anymore to know if there’s a current Picard maneuver surrogate.
I was curious so I did a tiny amount of research and as it turns out, you’re pretty much in line with the data.
Information on ancient Greeks beating their wives is pretty sparse and what little we have suggests that it was so common that it barely deserved mention.
Beat their wives, fucked their kids, and gave rise to the society we’ve inherited today.

So Troi is half betazoid, and grew up with her mother on betazed. Where, presumably, there was no chocolate.
I know I know they have replicators and whatever. I just find it amusing that chocolate from Earth is so appealing as a flavor that less than a hundred years after joining the federation, Betazoid children are growing up loving chocolate frequently enough that Troi develops a strong taste for it.
Not tov start another debate about the color of something online, but that looks very much like an inventory sticker. The blue ones are much lighter blue than that. That is a black sticker, and the glare bouncing off of it makes it look lighter
I left phantom menace disappointed but hopeful.
Clone wars opens with Anakin and Obi wan talking about a better movie they didn’t make.
I left revenge of the sith convinced that’s not how it actually happened, that the last three movies weren’t actually canon, but like, a story someone told about Darth Vader centuries after the fact.
