Honestly the steam deck came out at the perfect time

I have debated getting a lifetime plex pass for a few reasons, I might when it’s next on sale but I’m not fully decided on it yet. I have been using Plexamp recently to listen to audiodramas though, sorting through stuff like that with anything other than the file structure I have already set up just really does not work for me
I prefer Jellyfin for just watching stuff on my TV streamed from my computer though
What paid plex subscription? For the record I’ll probably look into that later but I have never once given plex money
I am in a situation where I can’t open up ports manually (or access my router at all) so it’s definitely not manual
I said easier, setting up a vpn for my family to be able to remotely access my media on their TV is no where near as easy as setting up a Plex server and sharing it that way
I use Jellyfin and plex still has it’s uses, much easier to share content remotely for example
Minetest needs a more active community, one where people talk about mod combinations that they’ve played with and enjoyed. With Minecraft I can find tons of modpacks and people talking about them on places like youtube and reddit, it makes it a lot easier to pick things to play
But NVidia isn’t a barrier for wayland anymore.
I’ve heard that before recently, but tbth I really don’t want to mess with my system rn (barring updates), it mostly acts as a server lately sense I got my SteamDeck and that’s probably how it’s gonna stay as I really want to avoid accidentally breaking anything for the time being
When I get my batch 2 framework order I’m going to be a lot more willing to learn adout and experiment with Wayland, just becouse I know whatever I do on that it won’t interrupt what other people are doing who are connect to the aformentioned server on my older machine
Will I upgrade my other computer to Wayland? Maybe eventually after I’ve learned more about it and played with it some, but for the time being it’s just gonna stay as it is
I’ve heard that there is one, and I understand the reasons to let programs decide the icon, but what’s the controversy? What makes people think it’s a bad idea?
Becouse I’m still on nvidia, when I get the framework 16" soon tm it’s getting Wayland
Already claimed it, plan on installing it later
(Though I probably won’t play it till I’ve gotten tired of BG3 and need a break)
Well, it’s right so far! Have fun
If it’s right then I’ll finally be able to play GotG on my SteamDeck, been waiting to play that
Oh wow, I’ve joked that elon was just Edison 2.0 but this is just further proof
And wouldn’t it be a lot cheaper to just build your own PC rather than pay the premium for the apple logo?
100%, but I have family that uses Apple, and If I got an old mac from any of them I wouldn’t complain, I’d just quietly instal a new OS
It’s funny to me becouse these days with all the remote software reinstallation and asking why you want to close one drive and things, windows isn’t exactly very personal either
Well then here you go, something more open to install on a modern mac http://asahilinux.org/
For the last time, PC means personal computer, not windows computer, if a mac isn’t a personal computer then what is it?
Same, I don’t even touch google play anymore, to high a risk of downloading spyware or a virus
People have talked about proton and how it can play practically everything these days (I even got it working with games that don’t work with modern windows) but if you play multiplayer games with anti-cheat, here’s a useful site https://areweanticheatyet.com/
