  • Something to consider is a monolith can have different entry points and a focused area of work. Like my web application monolith can also have email workers, and background job processers all with different container specs and scaling but share a code base.

And coming from a background where I work heavily with Postgres a bunch of smaller segregates databases sound like a nightmare data integerity wise. Although I’m sure it can be done cleanly there are big advantages with having all your tables in one database.

  • Imo if your doing it right your monolith is also broken up into chunks that are segmented with clear defined apis and well tested (apis in this context are whatever your public functions/method/top level objects). With clean internal apis and properly segmented code it should be easy to read and do what you need.

I don’t know if I agree with the infra level. What makes you say it has advantages there?

Biggest two advantages to micro services in my mind is you can use different tools / languages for different jobs and making it easier for multiple teams to work in parallel. Two biggest disadvantages in my mind is you lose code sharing and services become more siloded to different teams which can make it more difficult to roll out changes that need multiple services updated.

There is also the messaging problem with micro services. Message passing through the network rather then in memory. (Ex calling the user_service object vs user_service micro service)

One other big disadvantage of a monolith I also can think of is build time and developer tools can struggle with them. A lot more files/objects to keep track of and it can often make for an annoying development flow.

My preference is to monolith most things and only split off something into a micro service if you really get a big benefit from another tool or language for a specific task.

Have you programmed with rust a day in your life? Once you introduce one library that requires Tokio async you have to start wrapping all your calls that involve it in async shit.

So many better concurrency patterns out there.

And these libraries are not easily avoidable. Ex: most AWS libraries require it.

And forgive me for a stupid typo, I have had little sleep the last week but you are an asshole that thinks belittling people somehow makes you right so it doesn’t really matter.

  • Sure it’s a recruitment driver but that doesn’t change the fact that Hamas doesn’t care about Palestinians and is a terrorist organization. Their behavior is inexcusable and the current state of Gaza is a direct result of their violence (against both Palestinians and Israelis). They are not some sort of organization to be defended and right now isn’t the time to try to do that while they are literally killing scores and scores of civilians.

It’s like defending ISIS during one of their worst atrocities because they are Sunni and used Shia on Sunni violence to recruit.

Also if you scroll further in this thread you will see a lot of people celebrating the attacks.

  • Justify this you cunt. Sorry I should call people cunts but the news coming out of Israel isn’t good. A ton of Israeli’s are dead and a ton of Palestinians are dead/going to die over this. Hamas achieved nothing but get scores of Palestinian and Israelis killed.

FAIR WARNING THIS IS EXTREMELY NSFW. IT IS THE RESULTS OF AN ATTACK ON A BOMB BUNKER. FILMED BY HAMAS THEMSELVES.

They started off the attack by launching thousands of rockets then they purposely attacked bomb bunkers where tons of civilians were grouped together and hiding. This is what you and the others are currently justifying.

HAMAS was always this violence this is not some sort of revolation or response to occupation. They want to genocide Jews not make Palestinian lives better. They came to power in Gaza strip through violence (against Palestinians and the people they elected).

EXTREMELY NSFW YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED: https://twitter.com/MDeLaBroc1/status/1710547042269905146?s=20

  • Let me be very clear. Hamas is ISIS level bad. They are not slightly bad, Israel level bad, Russia/Iran level bad. They are religious fanatics who only care about genociding the Jews in the most violent and terrifying way possible.

Idk why you keep making excuses and bringing up Israels occupation. An occupation which is happening (for the most part) on an entirely different side of the country that has a completely different Palestine government, groups and organizations behind it.

Gaza is embargoed and walled up due to Israels fear of violence from Hamas which exactly what happened today. And it wasn’t always like that, the walls and the embargo were built due previous violent actions from Hamas.

  • Hamas is out there beheading kids and laughing about it on camera. They are slaughtering civilians and kidnapping others.

It was never about the occupation, all they care about is killing Jews. This isn’t about Palestine rights. Hamas never cared about Palestinians which is why they love to store ammo at the bottom of important buildings and launch rockets from apartment complexes.

Go read about the organizations history before you defend these actions. They violently took power of Gaza strip after losing an election.

Edit: Fediverse Nazis are out in full force today lol.
