I don’t think it blocks users from that instance when you block the instance, just threads posted to said instance. I might be wrong, idk, but that’s what I read before.
browsing by subscribed content works like that. I imagine it looks like I’m blocking everything and everyone but I’m just trying to curate my feed to make it as less noisy as possible
If you browse by “subscribed”, you only see the communities you have joined. I sometimes browse “new” just to see what’s happening now, and this shows all posts from any community (you haven’t blocked). The sorting method “Active” is posts from 1-2 days ago and the content in “Hot” stays about the same throughout the day.
Oh really? I have only seen German communities coming from that. I initially thought it would be more than just that (considering .org
) but after so many German posts, I just blocked the instance.
Nothing wrong with the posts / communities itself, but I don’t speak or read German so it’s just noise to me
thanks, there’s a reason I left Reddit!
There’s a reasonable explanation for that one, namely: the French.
We’ve investigated ourselves and found no wrongdoing
I do have a Bluesky account but the microblogging stuff just isn’t for me. I like nuance and being able to have all the facts laid out. A conversation, if you will.
My twitter and facebook accounts have been disabled / removed for a while
I’m fine with it on social media, but on websites, articles, research papers etc I see it as a lack of quality control. It’s very easy to fix too, just hit ctrl+F and type space twice to find any.
Double spaces in text
Some people need to hide their identity and post on a throwaway, though. This would mean those people won’t post anymore, and they can be genuine.
Roleplaying isn’t unique to Reddit. I feel like we should have people post a picture with their username on it, but turns out that AI can fake that too nowadays.
I don’t really know of any solution to ensure posted content is as truthful as possible, to be honest.
The point of these games is that you do one a day and share your results with others to show how good you are.
I think it started with Wordle, but I’m not sure. There will be more genres of games popping up as “genre”-le until this fad dies out.
I don’t talk to LLMs much, but I assure you I never mentioned cricket even once. I assumed it wouldn’t work on Copilot though, as Microsoft keeps “fixing” problems.
Idk what I expected
That’s hilarious, but I needed the explanation too. Thanks!
learning history through the power of memes? You spoil us
I’m not sure about all the same content, but you can see at least some Mastadon content and comments on Lemmy and vice versa. You’ll recognize them as they use a lot of #tags and will @ the user they are replying to, which have little use on Lemmy.
