Yikes. I’ve never read Asterix and Obelix, but did they really make (I assume) the only black character a straight up knuckle-dragging gorilla imitation? 😬
More like “And I hope you learned not to trust the wellbeing and education of the children entrusted to you to a program that’s not capable of doing either.”
But their question wasn’t “Do humans deserve to go extinct?”, it was “Can we survive?” Your (valid) issues with human-driven climate change don’t really have anything to do with what they brought up.
That’s why inflation has hardly gone up in fifty years! Wait…
No

It’s interesting because MQ is definitely still working specifically with severely flawed characters, but it also goes out of its way to make them feel redeemable in a way, too. At times it comes off as a bit contrived or phony, but I think it works for the tone of the show overall.
I just caught up on this series and I enjoyed it quite a lot. I was particularly struck by how disparate it is in seasons 2 and 3, like it’s trying to be several distinct shows/stories in one. While that’s usually a bad characteristic, I think MQ manages to pull it off, which is cool. Overall it’s a good show, and pretty unique, which is hard to come by.
That’s fair. I hadn’t thought about the missing third measurement.
Either short or a shallow ass grave.
Why would we do that?
A lot of idioms are not great if considered literally, tbf. “Raining cats and dogs”, “Break a leg”, letting someone “off the hook”, etc.
Eh, it depends on how much you trust/value the company or product. I got a first gen Steam Deck and, while I didn’t expect an updated model so quickly, I have no regrets. Even if it didn’t live up to my expectations (it has), I would’ve wanted to support a customer friendly device like this.
If it’s purely transactional, though, I agree - waiting for an updated or revamped version will be a much better value overall.
Thanks for the warning!
This is a basic fact overlooked by almost every time travel sci-fi. We wouldn’t just jump into a machine and poof be in the exact same location 1,000 years ago.
It would be more like trying to land a spaceship on a planet light years away, there would have to be calculations for position and gravity. All sorts of crap before you even solve the impossible problem of turning back the clock.
If the only reason you find the premise of traveling through time preposterous is that they didn’t do the basic research to make it work, why not just assume they did? It’s a fictional world. Just go with it.
Sir, this is The Winchester.
Ooh, that’s cool. Now I’m hoping they do it for the rest of the “trilogy”. Would really love to see Hot Fuzz in theaters.
It’s less of a “dice jail” and more so a “dice oubliette”.
