Apparently there used to be a similar mount with the AH, but no mailbox and for 5mil gold. It was removed from the vendor years ago. Anyone who got it then, supposedly still does.

That’s definitely an valid option. It’s a 2007? That car definitely got it years in. If you can do it, get yourself something new (to you), and treat yourself to the modern comfort of cars. If you do a lot of highway travel, a good adaptive cruise control more than makes up for the stupid tablet controls.

Yes the giant touch panel thing sucks, but at least the important stuff like wipers and lights are still physical. Climate control UI is rough, but not the worst I’ve seen. The climate auto mode does a good job. Generally I only have to set the temp which is a physical up/down button and the car will adjust vents and fan speed accordingly (defrost buttons are physical too).

I wound not mind ads if they met the following conditions (in no particular order).

• Actually vet them, no scams and viruses.
• minimal obstruction to what I’m there for. A bilboard on the side of the highway is fine, but when they put in the road, there’s a problem.
• Mix it up. YouTube playing the same ad 500 times in a row is obnoxious.
• No yelling/loud shit. Play your ad, don’t blow out my speakers.
• If on a silent website, video ads must be auto muted.
• if I’m on data or a metered network, don’t auto play ads and keep the total data usage to a minimum.
• Medical and health ads aren’t allowed. You can have PSAs about conditions and that there are treatment options, but it should your doctor researching and recommending specific medicine not a patient going in with some ad.

Yes, the “best purchase” questions are a bit frequent. However, where else can you go these days? Facebook? Amazon Reviews? AI article #28462? Paid YT influencers?

Forms like Lemmy are one the last places you can ask and get reasonable honest human answers for purchase advice. Reviews and troubleshooting are last 2 reasons I go to reddit, and even then reviews over there can be iffy on mainstream stuff.
