I drew it, cuz I like pokeymans.

“Cel” stands for celluloid, which was used and painted on for classic animation (which popularized the simple flat color painting style that you see imitated in modern cel-shading).

The hatching lends a really unique atmosphere to this drawing, and the fact that it’s drawn by hand, line by line, towards building that sort of romantic ambiance. I think that if the lines had been some sort of repeating, copy/pasted texture, it would’ve looked sterile and boring instead. It must’ve taken a long time, haha. Patience and focus are really unassuming but invaluable attributes for creating art. :)

I like the various line weights and textures you’ve got going on. They really add to the psychedelic woo-woo vibe.

The overlaps add some needed depth, and the geometric patterns remind me of the quantum realm, and how disorienting it is.
