The hardware communities are not active enough. We need more people who are interested in niche topics
I’ll have to say that I feel like Lemmy is the biggest success since it replaced Reddit for me almost completely except for Google searches
I found it interesting, maybe more related to decentralized media in general than Fediverse
When I post that Americans have higher purchasing power than before the pandemic, my data is downvoted, while personal experiences are upvoted

A clone no company owns, hosted by volunteers on their own servers. In this corporation-owned world it’s pretty revolutionary
I just checked again, a lot less crypto, only every other post about stacking sats
But on the plus side, a post talking about open source AI text models which is something interesting
I actually like Nostr, except for its user base. They run bots to spam crypto when you post anything

I just remember that Google used to be able to talk to Facebook and it was awesome.
Before that I used Trillian which had to log in to all the networks. There was one beautiful moment in time where you could just use an XMPP client and you were able to reach most of the people you know

Unfortunately, you can only solve this by making either each vote cost money or the user’s time. Otherwise a server can always make fake accounts
This is actually not true, because if you received a transaction that is “printed” money due to some bug, it would be provable. This has not happened
Nobody has to do it if they don’t want to.
