Came here to suggest Akagi, it might also help to play a little Mahjong Soul to understand riichi mahjong. It’s not essential, but rewatching Akagi after learning how to play was an enhanced experience.

If you’re going to cherry pick one of his movies to make some sort of point you could at least pick his lowest rated film (Space Jam: A New Legacy). Most of Coogler’s films score well with both critics and audiences so I think it’s fine to wait and see before getting too excited.

I don’t think there’s magic one size fits all answer to this, it really sucks you have to deal with it. Avoid destructive behaviours like drinking until you pass out etc, they won’t help in the long term. Do you have any friends IRL you can call on?
