The big things are the deli counter and vibe of the place. Things aren’t necessarily super over priced like chain convenient stores. They also often also tailor to more specific customers. There is one near me that has shelves of Indian products while another just a block away carries Polish products.

That’s exactly where I’d love to move if I can’t stay in the US. Got the tech profession and everything…
I’m assuning very different region than in NYC. I see moving trucks all over every month. Companies like Man With a Van or Piece of Cake seem to be expanding more and more.
I have 1 game I really play on my phone. Bloons TD 6.
Even on desktop I haven’t found any td games quite as good.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's a sci-fi thing you feel is achievable with our current level of technology that you'd love to see become a thing?
1·8 months agoBy the way, app is called privacy. Biggest problem with it is that it uses plaid to connect to your bank so you have to trust them with your bank password.
I use it though and love it. Every card can have its own limits like per transaction, per month, per year, or total ever.
Generally live longer too.

3·8 months agoAt work we’ve got coderabbit set up on our github and it has found bugs that I wrote. Sometimes the thing drives me insane with pointless comments, but just today found a spot that would have been a big bug in prod in like 3 months.
I was confused when I first joined and thought that they were a community not a user because of the amount of my feed they had
That’s why I like to eat a lot of apples. I feel so hydrated during the summer.

I do love a numbered list
Oh I’m thinking of the woman who didn’t have insurance but her dad did, so he pretended to have the same disease so he could hand her the medication she needed.
I think the insurance fraud episode is way later as the hospital director is played by Monica from friends. But maybe they did that twice and I just forgot?
I told them my os is non standard, Graphene, and if they need anything more than 2fa codes, it’d need to be on one of their devices.
I use pycharm for this and in general it does a great job. At work we’ve got some massive repos and it’ll handle it fine.
The “find” tab shows where it’ll make changes and you can click “don’t change anything in this directory”

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Which country do you live in and how much paid time off work do you get?
3·1 year agoUSA, tech start-up. “unlimited PTO” and probably about a month’s worth per year. Also full WFH but that’s because of a medical exemption.
While I’m at my desk, I work extremely hard but don’t usually work more than 35ish hours per week as I my brain can’t sustain much more.

It can, depending on plan. Mine covers emergencies everywhere in the country regardless of in my state or not. But I better not need a normal dr appointment on vacation.
Though medication can be pretty easily accessed using a national chain like cvs or walgreens.
