• AVNC: Allows me to remotely control my laptop from my phone. Requires installation of VNC software on the laptop (I’m using TightVNC).
• Binary Eye: Barcode/QR code scanner with history.
• Loop Habit Tracker: Helps me keep track of habits – eg. going to the gym X times a week.
• Island: Allows me to create a clone of app. Useful for apps that don’t support multi-accounts.
• Simple Time Tracker: I use it to keep track of how long I spend playing a game, since I like documenting the info for HowLongToBeat.com

I’ve been loyal to Sync. Few quirks that need to be resolved like support for Lemmy spoilers, but other than that it’s been fantastic.

There will always be negativity unfortunately. I’ve come to realize that engaging in it is a waste of one’s time and doesn’t help resolve whatever issue the person on the other side may be going through. I try to diffuse situations, but I can’t always spend all my time doing that.

As for weekend plans, not much really. Gonna head to the gym after work and complete my assignment. Same for tomorrow. Maybe start a new video game from my backlog after playing some Muse Dash. I always crave a good platformer.

Ease of use.

With your one Discord account you join all the servers you care about and interact with online/IRL friends.

There are downsides that people at Lemmy will find dealbreaking and I absolutely agree with them, but the convenience of it being a chat, forum (almost), voice/video calling and gaming platform for free with (currently) no ads triumphs all of that for the majority of people, and that’s what makes it popular. It’s also cross-platform so no one’s left out.

Absolutely well deserved.
