Sound and Fury - Sturgill Simpson
Probably my earliest memory of interacting with someone outside my family was when I was in an Easter egg hunt and being a little kid somehow managed to drop all my eggs. Another kid stopped what he was doing to help me pick them up. I don’t know why but that stuck in my head and I think it’s influenced how I’ve treated people throughout my life.
I live in a basement and it was dark enough I had to turn the lights on a 4:30 yesterday. That was depressing.
I get it. I’m the same way about instant mashed potatoes because that’s what my grandma always made and that’s just how mashed potatoes should be (to me). Not a fan of real ones really the texture is just off. I can’t speak to pancakes because I can’t think of any pancakes I’ve ever had that really stand out from any others but it could be something like that. Pancakes certainly don’t seem to be worth arguing over to me.
My experience with leftovers growing up was having to eating my mom’s terrible cooking again when it wasn’t even good fresh. As an adult I love them because I like my own cooking and it means I get to skip a few nights a week.
Kind of hard when the popular kids decide to single you out and you become a pariah. There were a couple of groups I was on the periphery of but nobody ever backed me up when I was getting fucked with. I had 4 dudes I would consider to be friends but we didn’t really have common interests and lost 2 of them to a car accident halfway through. Fuck high school.
I tried rebooting it but that didn’t fix the problem. It’s a GE if anyone needs a brand to avoid.
TIL. I remember my history book one year in grade school mentioning that show and the hysteria it caused.
Laying down and watching an old black and white movie puts me out quick. I’ve been watching the old Universal monster movies this month and it has been a struggle lol. Also started taking melatonin and that helps me sleep too. If I can’t sleep due to stress/anxiety I imagine I’m dying and that seems to work.
So… just don’t let me use self cleaning… Why does the whole thing need to be bricked because the lock doesn’t work for a single function I’m not using? It doesn’t lock when you use it for baking.
So funny story. My stove is currently inoperable because the door lock on the oven is fucked up somehow. Why an oven needs a door lock and why the door lock being fucked should prevent the whole thing from working I cannot tell you. I’ve literally never used it. Thanks whoever programmed that…
So say they cut their family off and now have no support network. Now what?
If dividers weren’t shorter than most moderately tall dudes I wouldn’t care but I’ve caught one to many weirdos taking a peek over the wall to ever be comfortable with someone in the next urinal.
They Live. I stumbled across it on TV while exhausted at 2 am one night and it had me locked in the whole time.
Of course I want the communities I enjoy to grow but not at the expense of the platform. Too much growth and it’ll turn into another reddit situation with a bunch of unoriginal dipshits reposting meme responses to everything over and over. I’d rather things stay as they are then turn into that. At least now you can have interesting discussions with people when you do actually get a response.
I don’t have a problem with technology advancing. I have a problem with the goal of all this new shit just being to extract more money out of me while providing as minimal product as possible. An easy example being smartphones. The potential in functionality for them is insane but I can’t buy one today that doesn’t have less features than my 2016 model and I’m constantly fighting permissions bullshit any time I try to do anything fancy with it.

This is pretty close to what I started with. Starting out focus on getting your form correct and staying consistent over pushing tons of weight.
I’ve read so many it’s hard to say but recently the Star Wars book about Phasma stands out (most of the books since Disney took over are not great). Also a series someone on Reddit recommended that turned out to be basically a guy writing down a game of Stellaris. I don’t remember the name of it but it was awful.
Hey! The US has been genociding people way longer than that. Give them some credit.
