How difficult is it not to act on your feelings? How angry do you get at (god, nature, the universe, whatever) for burdening you with something so universally reviled?
I gotta admit, I’m a little freaked out, but your tone and straightforward honesty has helped quite a bit.
You’re too used to people making attacks. That’s not what I was trying to do. I was asking questions. I don’t know how much of RTs funding comes from the state, and I don’t even know if they run commercials.
I don’t know how RT is funded, and I’ve never watched it.
How much of their funding came from the state? 100%? That’s 100% control.
Whenever a genuinely obnoxious post is upvoted multiple times, I always wonder how many of those upvotes are from the pathetic author’s alts, and how many are from people who are just fellow assholes.
I’ve seen more sealioning than simple trolling. Sometimes, I can’t resist replying, because I’m not sure if they’re genuinely seeing things differently, or just because their games annoy me.
How are you not proving his point? The very first thing I said was “that’s unfortunate”, because I empathize. I also used the word “maybe” because I’m not omniscient and could very well be wrong. Describing my own experience is not “bragging” or “hostile”, and since it’s related to the topic at hand, certainly isn’t arbitrary.
Unlike you, I didn’t lead off with a paragraph of assumptions.
I’m not even touching that ridiculous “group dynamics” bullshit, or the personal insults. They speak for themselves quite well. Have you ever heard of giving someone the benefit of the doubt?
Don’t waste too much effort on your inevitable reply. I won’t be reading it.
That’s unfortunate, because it’s the opposite of my experience. Maybe I just don’t care, and/or I’ve gotten better at spotting the warning signs of trivial bullshit and then ignoring it.
The trolls feel like insecure outsiders who haven’t matured enough to “get” Lemmy. It’s like they know they aren’t taken seriously, and want the imaginary clout they had on Reddit.
This was an interesting read, but I’ve got stuff to do today, so I skipped the 90 minute video on their “outrageously ambitious mission”. Anyone care to summarize?
Fuck you, Palworld, here comes Donald Duck with a shotgun.
This might have been interesting a few months ago, when they were getting the kind of free publicity that CEOs would kill for. Now that the momentum is gone, though, nobody cares. They took WAY too long to get their shit together.
If a post is titled “A reminder on the difference between demonstrations and protests”, then I expect an explanation of what that difference is. I was hoping to be educated, not lectured at.
At one of my old jobs, someone who was a manager at another business called and assumed I was a manager as well. He asked for a reference on an employee who had recently quit. The guy who left hadn’t been very good at the job, but he was a good person, clearly trying something different in a new field. I gave him a good “reference”, and the other manager sounded happy.
I wonder how it went for my old coworker…
Stone memorials - like the Lincoln, Jefferson, Vietnam, or WWII memorials in Washington D.C.
Some people just like debating. It’s incredibly refreshing when someone you completely disagree with raises a thoughtful, interesting point.
I’ve watched several videos! I know next to nothing about guns, so hearing about the oddities is a fun way to learn.
It’s also fascinating that Robbie finds a way to balance her celebrity career with moderating a community on Lemmy lol
lol that’s YOU?!? https://lemmy.world/c/forgottenweapons showed up randomly in my feed one day, and I subscribed because it’s unique and interesting! Awesome!
THIS is the way to do it, folks! Nice work!
Hey, cool! I didn’t know about Scaled sorting. Thanks again!
Everything it says is shit
