If the power lines are good, you can fairly easily extend your network with ethernet over powerline adapters:

You plug one unit into an outlet close to your router and connect it to your router with an ethernet cable. You plug the other unit in in any other room in your house and connect it with ethernet to a computer, a second router, or any other device that has an ethernet port.
Last time I checked out various newsgroups on different topics they were all pretty dead. What topics/which groups are you looking at?
I was exited for this phone, but as I said in another thread: I am a bit disappoited about the CPU and the substantial price hike, but most of all aqout the size increase. Is there any market research at all indicating that customers want 6"+ displays?
I don’t have that issue. I am on Android 13. What in particular is slow for you? Navigating the app itself, the search, loading the videos? Has it always been slow?

It’s probably the surfacing that is the issue. Also, the entire capsule is bolted together: they can’t just open a hatch when they surface 😬

I am not saying you are wrong or suggesting that you select other types of news to post. I am just noticing a pattern that confirms how much in trouble we are right now, and I feel any actions to counter it are too little and too late and that is depressing.
Every other message on here is so depressing (new record of global warming, more animals going extinct, etc.). Just so depressing 😞
I don’t think it is dead, but the hype certainly seems to be over. It is important to realize that as long as the crypto value trend is strongly linked to value of other commodities, it is still being treated as an investment, rather than a currency. Increasing the places where crypto can be actually used to pay will allow for unlinking crypto from being an investment to a currency. I guess there most people are currently not interested in that as much, which I think is unfortunate.

I have been going over the same thing in the last two days.
What worked for me was the following:
Use a computer (not a phone). That was at least easier in my experience.
Find your community of interest via: https://browse.feddit.de/
Make note of the instance (the server, e.g., lemmy.ml, lemmy.world, beehaw.org, etc.) as well as the community name (‘sub reddits’). For example, let’s use ‘technology’ at ‘beehive.org’
Go to your Lemmy server and log in. Note that your server/instance does NOT have to be the beehaw.org server, even though we want to add a community from this server. Now go to the search bar and paste the following:
The annoying part is that it takes some time before the search result may show up (but definitely less than a minute in my experience).
Once the search result shows up, you can follow the link, which will open the community page where you will have a ‘subscribe’ button on the top right of the page.
