They’re the only comments in the thread with double digit upvotes. Seems to have touched a nerve. Admittedly a rather tame example given most of the other gender discussions I’ve seen on this site.
Nothing has changed from reddit. Y’all can’t take the slightest joke about guys without melting down.

With a physical paper, you don’t even need to subscribe, you can just go out and buy one copy with a day or week’s worth of news. As for the ads, they’re static text/images printed on a piece of paper. They don’t overstimulate you by jumping around or block the content you’re actually there for.
I just listen to music on YT in a browser with uBlock Origin.

I use Lemmy, but I’ve mostly gone back to message boards, so I’m content with where I am.

I’ve actually been going out of my way to look up new forums to use since the Reddit API controversy. Finding them can sometimes be a pain in the ass because search engines suck nowadays, but I’ve found a few I hang around on. I spend way more time on them than I do Lemmy.
One name I have yet to see here is We Are Not Alive (Formerly Diregentlmen), group of professional writers who talk about writing, media, and tropes. Check them out.

nl4real@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Just curious but are we heading towards an "eat the rich" society?7·7 months agoHopefully we will move towards a more equitable society, but Fascists also have a track record of exploiting the sort of instability American society has been faced with during this century so far. If we don’t handle this carefully, it could go badly. Which is saying a lot, given the last decade.

What does the reaction to this death say, if anything about this moment in history?18·7 months agoIt’s still a warning sign that a large number people no longer feel peacefully working within the system can address societal issues.
You’re more focused on the wording than the actual point.
