4·25 days agoOh. I meant to portray that the doctor says a similar line twice. Once outside before the statue, and a second time inside the bar.

2·2 months agoYeah, I guess I was just completely disconnected on the real hazard of depressurization. It’s not just about holding your breath.
The worst part is that I have read about this stuff in several contexts. Maybe it’s just that it’s not a common part of my life.

4·2 months agoThanks for the link. I’d forgotten about this. Of course, I’ve only read it phrased in the scenarios where scuba divers resurface too fast.
I guess my proposed solution only works within a pressurized environment.

2·2 months agoYou can’t? Huh. I’ve got some reading to do.
Edit: there’s another comment with a relevant link. The problem seems to be the pressure difference, regardless of your previous actions.

1·2 months agoThanks for the reminder. I still remember people talking about the “realistic” scene in Titan AE, where the protagonist expels the air from his lungs before venturing into space.
Anyway, maybe I can fix it and say that you can take a few short breaths to oxygenate and then let go.
Same thing happened to me when I discovered it.
You probably figured it out already, but in case you didn’t: the video I posted before is part of a playlist, and it’s an excellent way to get acquainted with the game.
And thus… the existance of this community is now officially worthwhile. ;)
BTW, There’s also a Traveller-specific community: (!Traveller@ttrpg.network)
Traveller is one of the oldest RPGs out there. And here’s just the video that explains how to use it:

2·3 months agoI sort of became lost with Stellagama’s offerings after the Cepheus family. 😅
Anyway, Quantum does ring a bell, but Quantum Dark didn’t.
Edit: turns out I do own the base Quantum PDF. That’s why it rung a bell, I guess.

Gave it a quick glance… apparently it doesn’t “break character” absolutely anywhere.
Perhaps not with those exact names, but there’s a fix:
Edit (May 2nd) - Traveller5 bundle includes: Traveller5 Core Rules 3-Book Set, T5 Starships & Spacecraft deck plans, and T5 Gazelle-Class Close Escorts

2·8 months agoI must confess I’ve never tried his builds. Mostly because I don’t have easy access to a color printer and the last time I tried grayscale papercraft it was underwhelming.
Alas, I usually try making fantasy ruins out of cardboard and scraps. If it ends up crooked, the more ruined they look. 😉

Sci-Fi RPGs@ttrpg.network•Classic Traveller (facsimile edition) is free todayEnglish
1·9 months agoDoes anyone know the story about this edition? It does seem like it was intended to be faxed. 😅
Wait… did you even get to use fax machines? Geez, I’m old.
Anyway, while I didn’t play Traveller back in the day, this edition holds a special place in my heart. I had watched Seth Skorkowsky’s videos (I think he had completed the full series, not too long ago if you’re keeping score) and thought: this is the game I want to play. But I was absolutely broke. I got started with Cepheus Engine SRD, because I didn’t even know if my players would like it and didn’t want to spend money that I didn’t even have. I think I got this facsimile edition for $1, and I was ecstatic.
Granted, I had everything truly necessary out of the Cepheus Engine SRD, but I felt like I was chipping in somehow.
Thanks Marc!
