A high-quality laptop without any branding.

I’m currently using a 9-year-old, woefully underpowered laptop made by Xiaomi. Full aluminium unibody, and NO logo. Not printed on, not etched in, not glistening only in the right light. NO LOGO.

I’m not a billboard. I’m not responsible for your brand recognition. Ironically though, far more people have come up to me and asked “hey, what laptop is that” than ever would have cared if there was a logo on it.

It also just looks and feels fantastic, all-aluminium-no-logo just looks so sleek.

So yeah. I will not be upgrading until I find another laptop of the same build quality, with no logo. Tuxedo has that option for most of their laptops, but for some reason not for their only current full-aluminium body -.-

Oh, and don’t come at me with stickers.

I switched a couple of months ago, from SwiftKey. Had been using that for ever, long before Microsoft bought it.

NGL, the transition was a bit rough, and the first month my error rate spiked. All good now though, plus Futo has a bunch of super useful features SK never had. Overall, very happy.

Why tho? Over here they don’t need refrigeration, keep longer, and are still salmonella-free. Really unproblematic to eat them raw as well.

Darf ich ehrlich sein? Ich fände das besser, als 4 Jahre gaslighting. Genau so scheiß Politik, aber nicht frustriert immer wieder aufs neue argumentieren müssen dass die kooperieren.

Natürlich hoffe ich trotzdem das keins von beidem passiert. Aber Vertrauen hab ich nicht da rein.

Wird der die nächsten 4 Jahre nach jeder einzelnen Abstimmung sagen “ich kann nix dafür, dass die afd mit uns gestimmt hat! Wir haben keine offizielle Kooperation! Brandmauer steht! Ist Zufall, dass wir halt der gleichen Meinung sind!”

Ne, im Gegenteil. Viele die mit einem Monitor “geübt” sind könnten mit zwei effizienter sein.

Keine Ahnung, die Diskussion ist echt müßig. Sowohl meinen Code als auch einen Browser gleichzeitig sehen zu können, ohne dass irgendwas abgeschnitten wird oder ich dauernd Fenstern zwischen Workspaces verschieben muss ist enorm angenehm. (Hab zwei im Quasrformat über einander hängen.)

Wenn ich muss, kan ich mit einem Arbeiten. Aber es bietet genau 0 Vorteile, und etliche Nachteile.

Hä, ich auch. Trotzdem sind zwei Bildschirme einfach nötig. Ich bekomme, wenn ich nur mein Laptop zur Verfügung hab, vielleicht 40% so viel erledigt wie am PC mit zwei Monitoren, beide mit Hüperland

Yeah. Everytime I’m for a visit, I have to show my mom again how to copy/paste things, access files on her USB drive, where to click to do an update,…

But she loves Bitwarden. Has been app consistent in using random passwords for logins, both on desktop and mobile.

My employer pays a buttload of money to CircleCI - for extensive checks (build, lint, formatting, full test suite, as well as custom scripts for translation converage, docs,… for the full tech stack) on every push. Reviews start only when everything passes.

I think you have given me a new-found appreciation for the reasoning behind that decision… 😄

I think if you want to copy a specific selection to a mouse-based, different program then it makes sense to use the mouse for precision selection.
