I don’t know if it is new, but it is in the help files when I tried to figure out why it required both confirming an email and the phone.

The worst part is that they act like you can set up an account without a number, but then it acts like there is ‘suspicious activity’ and requires you to verify with the phone immediately.
Just rant into this yesterday trying to set up a work account as my work phone is not a mobile phone with sms.
Was registering really suspicious?
My only complaint about discord is that it requires a mobile phone number for an account, and you can’t use the same number for multiple accounts.
I want separate personal (with a silly account name) and professional (with my name) accounts, but only have one phone.
I’ve never seen an electric car that used a CVT, normally they are just direct drive.
Potato, potato.
Electric > manual > automatic.
Manual’s only advantage over automatic is better control over shifting for staying in the power band or downshifting for long slopes. A proper CVT electric can always have the optimal power band for the speed and regenerative braking takes care of the long slopes.
Firefox +uBlock Origin = no youtube ads other than the ones that are part of the video itself, which can be skipped. Works for me on PC and android.
Found the poster who hasn’t been to Alabama.
I had a science teacher explain it back in high school the 90s before youtube existed. He went with the egg being first since the egg is what we call the new animal until it hatches, the shell is just the external container.
The baby chicken in the egg is the same chicken that hatches from the egg, but we call it an egg until it hatches. Egg first.
Big shoes!
You know socks come in different sizes, right?
Hard disagree. It is their job, amd while not doing their job could affect me, that does not make it my job.
If I will get grief because them not doing their job holds me up, then I blame them without any hesitation, because otherwise their job would become my job if I tried to make up for them.
This assumes people are individually responsible and it is not a group effort where I should be helping them and they will be helping me. Then it is a shared job.
So frustrating when the “auto complete” aspect of modern car windows means I cannot easily get the window half way closed or only a crack open. But I must be in the minority on that.
I love driving with all the windows open about 1/4 or 1/2 open when the weather is nice, and that has included cars I owned and various rentals over the years. All of the cars I have owned or rented for the last couple of decades require pushing hard enough to have a kind of ‘click’ feeling before it does the automatically all the way open or closed thing. I’m sure some car maker has a setup that makes it easy to trigger the fully open/closed accidentally though.
Does it not work manually if you only push it slightly on your car?
It is cut locally at the point of use by offloading the pollution and energy generation elsewhere. EV battery production as it is currently practiced is terrible, but also very far from where people actually use them.
They are net positive for sure, but only because of the potential for using less pollution energy generation instead of burning fossil fuels to move.
My first thought!
Any discouragement about upgrading your home should be taken in the context of you living in your home. If you are going to move in the next couple of years not spending 20k to upgrade your kitchen when you can apply that 20k to your next house is a good choice since it probably won’t increase you sale price. But if you plan on staying a decade, get the upgrade and enjoy yourself.
The second one.
“You can yell by the slope that human sacrifices were practiced.”
That is what the help files say, but when I tried to register a work account yesterday it did the verify you are human, then said there was something suspicious and sent the email verification, then said there was something suspicious and is now requiring a phone verification even though I did not enter a phone number.
At no point was I ever signed in and able to even pick a channel. This all happened while trying to log in for the first time through the browser at work with my work email. I guess that someone else might not hit that phone requirement as I only tried to do the registration once, but it is in no way limited to joining a particular channel.
