  • but on the other hand anglos literally bred pit bulls to tear cattle apart while they were still alive (and it was actually illegal to slaughter cows in england using normal methods)

I’m not saying pitbulls necessarily are genetically like that but I wouldn’t be surprised.

But regardless, let us appreciate the fact that 1800s era brits thought that the only appropriate way to consume beef was by slaughtering it with a dog ripping it’s muscle off its back while tied to a pole. Even being killed by a pack of wolves or a lion would be more humane lol

  • deer - clean but mineraly, also lean

goat - like lamb but more barn flavor

alligator - like chicken pork fish

frog legs - like chicken fish

goat testes - like the white of an egg but kinda musty (would not eat again)

    snails - chewy

crawfish - tastes like a “muddier” lobster

shark fin soup - had it once in a restaurant decades ago, it was kinda gelatinous but slightly sticky

sea urchin - I didn’t like this, but the ones I’ve seen in sushi restaurants look different (paler) than the ones I see fresh from the ocean, so it might be a freshness thing

eel - fatty and denser meat similar to the texture of mahi mahi

wagyu - I’ve had a few slices of this before, and I find it overrated (I find steak in general overrated). However I had it seared on a pan and it was thinly sliced already so it might’ve just been too nuked to taste good

  • I think the clickwheel design is, in my view, the single best one-thumb no-looking-required input scheme for an MP3 player I think anyone has ever made. Plug it into, say, my car stereo AUX port and I can pick it up with a free hand to control volume, select tracks, and even navigate mostly by memory without having to look at the thing. I can just tell where I am based on the feel of the control. Infinitely better than a featureless flat slab of a touch screen that gives you no sensory feedback.

can’t most of these things be achieved easily by physical buttons too? of course everything is better than touch screen buttons
