Maybe the countries who put it up there should have had a plan for taking it down? Or at least pay for it?
Their failure is a huge opportunity for the usual grifters.
Endless handouts for leeches. Denial of basic human needs for everybody else.
“Social media” is next and many people here already support it.
Pretty sure the entire system is based around making the line go up regardless of everything else.
A surgeon general’s warning label, which requires congressional action, would regularly remind parents and adolescents that social media has not been proved safe.
So they’re going to put a warning on anything that hasn’t been “proved safe”? These people are clowns.
It looks like they did research on a wide variety of topics.
Like Optimus Prime? This dude is literally just blazing and watching Transformers.
Bitcoin went away? It’s at like $67k today. Personally I prefer sustainable cryptos but unfortunately Bitcoin is far from dead.
And sure, there’s lots of data processing and statistics that’s extremely useful. That’s been the case for a long time. But anybody talking about “intelligence” is a con.
When did the blockchain bubble burst? Is crypto dead again? I missed it.
Or it’s both depending on the wide variety of actually unintelligent things labelled as “AI”.
Will they ban microsoft now? It’s done far worse than TikTok ever has.
It’s hard to imagine free and sane people intentionally using xitter.
This is a bizarrely
carelessrealistic attitude for a politics student to have towards elections in their own country.
Why hold software to a higher standard than the people who violently control us? It’s because politicians inherently support hegemony while software is infuriatingly beyond their control.
For just a little balance that the BBC does not and will not provide:
Why would anybody trust propaganda against software that exposes genocide, when the propagandist is a direct mouthpiece of a state supporting that genocide?
Wew at least the app wasn’t corrupting the youth by revealing an ongoing genocide.
The crazy thing about USA is that nobody knows any counter-narratives to ask about. Sinophobes are always droning about Tianamen decades ago like this is unique to China. But they never ask about white supremacist equivalents. For example, what does chatGPT think about the genocidal massacre known as the “gulf war”? Chelsea Manning? Assange? This is just one invasion as an example. Most likely ChatGPT will just average the perspective from capitalist media. Maybe talk about some mainstream, pointless protests. People are so inured to the hegemonic narrative that they don’t understand the alternatives.
It’s never a win for those corporations.
Only one company is being banned by an autocratic regime though.
Because it’s imperialist and racist to pretend that USA is America.
