  • What do you find disrespectful? Speaking up about genocide?

I have no issue with that. I’m actually a German national and we really learn about what genocide is. And this ain’t it. Israel has had absolut military dominace for decades, and yet not all palestinans are dead yet. If this is genocide, they haven’t learnd a fucking thing about how you do this shit. There are literally more Palastines now than at any time before. What kind of shitty genocide is that?

  • I think it’s more of a long discussion what he means, the link I attached does a good job interpreting it biblically too.

I’ve briefly read into this, but it was too much religious stuff for me. I read two articles about Leonard Cohan touring with IDF troops through combat zones. That was about 3-4 years before he wrote this peom. I don’t know if he had a change of heart or what his feelings about the conflict would be today. But from reading about him, he seems to be very pro Israel.

But poem interpration was always something I was exceptionally bad at.

I also don’t think your comment deserves to be downvoted. Even though I disagree with it and find your last edit quite disrespectful.

  • I don’t think this is saying what you think it does.

He regularly played in Israel, giving concerts for soldiers and even volunteered in the Yom Kippur war.

Israel, and you who call yourself Israel, the Church that calls itself Israel, and the revolt that calls itself Israel, and every nation chosen to be a nation – none of these lands is yours, all of you are thieves of holiness, all of you at war with Mercy. Who will say it? Will America say, We have stolen it, or France step down?

This is bascially calling out the double standard that Israel faces, because in the end pretty much ANY nation has “stolen” their land from someone else at some point.
